Very good condition considering that the course had only just reopened due to some flooding. Greens true but slow due to the same reason. Friendly staff in pro shop and club house.... The sort of club Where i would like to be a member.....good atmosphere.

Majestic, tree-lined course with fantastic drainage. Three weekday rounds (including the otherwordly Forest course) for £90 is blinding value.

Drainage work being carried out meant course was not as good as usual but will be even better!

Both the Forest and the Manor are must play courses.
The Forest is totally different from any other course I have ever played. The fairways are kept by the wild life rather than greenkeepers and the setting in the middle of the Forest with all of the trees, streams, ups and downs plus the wandering wild life make it a joy to play. Can be a challenge when you get an odd bounce on the fairway or a great drive is halted by a present from the wildlife, not to mention trying to pursuade a pony to move off the tee! Greens are all in surprisingly good condition and some are in very challenging positions that need real risk/reward approach shots.
As for the Manor, it is easily the best course I have ever played, brilliantly kept, with stunning surroundings (I love the huge Redwood trees) and every hole has its own challenges.
The staff are all great, the club house is good and the pro shop has loads of demo clubs you can borrow. My other half borrowed a Yonex driver and took great pleasure in out driving me on a few occasions!
The Bell Inn is next to the club house is excellent and do great golf deals. They also do great steaks. Have been there twice in 3 months and hope to get there again this year.
Only downside is that in 6 rounds my other half has beaten me 6 times. She loves the place as well!

"The Forest" is one of my favourite courses. It was built privately on New Forest heathland in about 1865 and is the oldest course in Hampshire. The ever-changing scenery of humps, hollows and meandering streams test old fashioned golfing skills in an idyllic setting. The roaming ponies and deer only add to the charm.

It can get rather wet (as we found following heavy overnight rain), and you certainly need to be prepared to "take the rough with the smooth" but overall a MUST PLAY.

Only 2 minutes from M27J1, Bramshaw also has an excellent parkland course (The Manor) so it is a great venue for a day out. Good value winter deals are usually available as well. Excellent clubhouse/staff.

Love this course. Really sureal playing in amongst cows and horses. The fairways are new forest land not tended by green staff but animals who keep it well trimmed but do have a habbit of leaving natural hazards if you know what I mean...! This must be golf as it was in the days before manicured and lush fairways. Loved it... shame about my ability.

Manor Course

Played the Manor course as part of an overnight stay at The Bell Inn. Also arranged to play the Forest course and the sister course at Paulton's nearby. This is a lovely course in the New Forest. Picturesque and handsome with plenty of interesting holes. The greens were absolutely immaculate.

The course was offering 50% off green fees online seemingly throughout August in light of maintenance work on the greens but, while the work was obvious and the greens weren't great, this didn't massively affect things so £17.50 for an early afternoon round represented excellent value.
I've played it before and it's a very nice course but it does struggle a bit with drainage (the starter forewarned that there are two huge new ditches on 6 and 16 since my last visit which hopefully will improve things a lot in the winter) and there were still a few places on the fairways that were a bit boggy, which isn't great for the height of summer! I suppose it has been rather wet of late...

Only three groups in the vicinity on the course so it was very quiet and we were round in 3h30 so a good pace of play.

And a special mention for the friendliest bartender you'll ever meet in the clubhouse bar afterwards - tell him you're a Spurs fan and you may get a 100% discount!

For those who haven't played before, there are 3 or 4 short par 4s, one of which is definitely driveable - the 12th. The tee is very close to the clubhouse, practice green etc so have a go at it and take the plaudits if you get on in one!
