What the club says: The course gently weaves its way through the ancient woodland of the Hamptworth estate giving you the impression that the course has stood here for more than 100 years. The course is the perfect mix of forest, downland and intriguing water hazards, most of which are the result of the river Blackwater meandering its way through the course giving it its very own natural qualities.

Great course and atmosphereExcellent course, some really interesting holes (2nd and 10th being my favourite). Al the holes have their own challenges other the par 3 4th. it feels like its been added just to make it up to 18 holes, offers nothing and its totally featureless.
Greens were superb, best ive played on for a while. The double green nearest the clubhouse is awesome. Nice mix of hole type too, a few 'tee it high and let it fly' type driving holes and combined with plenty that the driver needs to stay firmly in the bag to stand any chance of a decent score. Staff are really friendly and helpful and the food was great.
Only downsides were the lack of indication off the tee where to aim on some blind tee shots and the par 6. there needs to be a pole to know where to aim. They could also do with a hitting net to warm up in. Other than that i cant fault the place. Excellent day.
First class golfThe staff are amazing, a credit to the club, the course is exceptional, I can highly recommend this course, if I was not on holiday here I would be coming back every day!
Makes you think! This will test the average golfer and those better. The water running across many of the fairways will keep you on your toes. Long drives very much required but also concentration on putts. A real quality test of the players ability.

Millionaires golf.We play here regular. As such we get off first and it?s like your own course. Nobody about. Gorgeous setting. Peaceful. Greens were fabulous condition. Staff always top class. A pleasure to play here.
There has been a definite change in the way the course is being managed. The greens are terrific. A lot of work has gone into the areas around the greens. The fairway onto the apron is tight. Very good condition.
We all really enjoyed the whole environment. And super welcome and care from the Pro shop.

Amazing course, definitely worth a visit!Wow, what a brilliant course. We all agree that this was one of the best courses we have played ever. Brilliant selection of holes, beautifully maintained course. Greens were best I?ve played, and they are putting effort into making them even better. A very long walk, quite hilly, next time I think I?d take a buggy.
Lovely clubhouse, nice cold beer with brilliant views over the new forest countryside.
By far the best course in our locale
Brilliant Golf!Great Course and Great Staff. The Course is testing but enjoyable, I really liked playing the Par 6, I don’t understand why anyone wouldn’t love the place. The sign out the front saying ‘No miserable people allowed’ made sure the atmosphere in the clubhouse was upbeat!
The clubhouse was closed by 6pm with people still on the course.
Tough test of golfJust played the course and found the design excellent which tests your course management skills to the full. The greens were slow due to dressing probably due to the hot summer, will definitely return again. We were very well looked after in the clubhouse and the staff were very friendly.
What a jewel!Played Hamptworth as part of a recent golf society tour of Wiltshire and its environs recently. What a course - every hole presents a challenge so probing ones all-round game at every turn. Very welcoming club, pro-shop couldn?t do enough, lovely ladies at the bar - nothing not to like! And, as a bonus, 400 yards out of the course gate is a wonderful, step back into the 1930s pub, the Cuckoo Inn. Hamptworth is a find and always a go-back- to venue if in the vicinity - our group certainly will!
Peaceful roundCourse in great condition, enjoyed the round , fully recommended for all class of golfers
