What the club says: The course gently weaves its way through the ancient woodland of the Hamptworth estate giving you the impression that the course has stood here for more than 100 years. The course is the perfect mix of forest, downland and intriguing water hazards, most of which are the result of the river Blackwater meandering its way through the course giving it its very own natural qualities.

Nice course worth a visit
Nice round of golf with client. Mixed holes lot of variety and very good greens. However be warned a lot of streams and ditches on probably on 75% of holes.

Fantastic Course
Hamptworth is a fantastic course, loads of interesting holes with excellent facilities all adds up to a great day of golf. You also have a par 6 if your brave enough.

Hidden Gem in the Forest
Lovely course which I would happily play regularly but just a bit far to travel to for me

Great course but tiring
Charity Golf Day - 9 hole scramble followed 18 hole stableford - tiring, quite up & down, but nearly every hole is different, and some real challenges. Nice food in club house and staff were outstanding; couldn't fault any aspect of the day. And the greens were quick & true. Definitely want to play here again.

Super day out
Excellent course, particularly the greens. You do need to be aware of your distances, however, especially when approaching the ditches and hazards.
The staff were excellent too.

Cass Casson rated 4 out of 5 - May 19 2017

Played this course at the start of May, mainly as it has a reciprocal arrangement with a course I play regularly - Chiddingfold.
The club house is well appointed and a very pleasant breakfast and staff on duty.
The course was fine with some 'thinking' holes, which is always a challenge for me on a course! It does have I think the only par 6 in the UK that is a bit of a novelty.
The bunkers were not of the best and the green were very 'seedy' although having said that true. Because of the dry weather at the time you did have to consider pitching the ball short of the green and let it run on. Maybe with a bit more rain the green would have been better.
Would play again.
