Good draining course
We played at Blake's as it boasts it's the driest course in Essex and after a couple of very boggy rounds we thought we'd give it a go. I don't know if it is the driest in Essex but it was very good only a couple of wet patches. Greens were good too.Reviewer Rating

Greens superb
Super friendly staff and members, had plenty of available carts , you will need one , great course , greens superb , even though it looks flat in the Essex countryside , it is long and has some lovely holes , great bar area.Reviewer Rating

Wide open. And great value
Fed up of hitting trees. This seemed an antidote. Only to lose more balls in 1 round than last 4. Rough unforgiving. There?s water around too. Great challenge when the wind blows. Can't wait to returnReviewer Rating

Long time since last visit
Basically it's a big field.They are trying to improve it by putting in new bunkers which obviously costs a lot of money but they also need to plant more gorse to make it a proper golf course.Cost is ?15 on weekdays and I think that tells you a lotReviewer Rating

wonderful surprise in essex
you just have to play Blakes , its like a links course but in Essex ,truly great day playing here , even has an island green ,played on a very hot day , drives went for miles .greens very well kept and ran true.lovely staff and members .will be playing here again soon.

Great course! On a hot summers day it as the feeling of being somewhere like Portugal with its wide open space. Well maintained course with a nice variety of holes.
