Fortunate to get an invite to friends 50th birthday golf day which was at Blackwell. From what I have been told it is not easy to get a game there unless with a member. Bearing that in mind they were very welcoming in the Pro Shop and Club House. The course obviously gets plenty of care and attention as it looked and was in very good condition. The greens were slow though which initially took getting used to as you could leave puts short on a downhill putt!
Overall though a really interesting and challenging layout with a couple of shortish Par 5's and a few long par 3's one of which famously Augusta 12th was modelled on.

Golfshake Team ReviewAbsolutely fabulous, immaculate course. For those who know it I would say it has some close similarities to Bearwood Lakes in Berkshire with some beautiful tree lined fairways in places. With my county card I payed £60 for a day ticket and fitted in 3 rounds nicely (and still got home to bath the kids!) It is a lovely course AND what made it extra special was the people. I fully expected 'snooty' people for such a plusg course (only 180 memebers so very quiet) but everyone I met was so nice, the fellow playerd; the club secretary (Finlay) couldn't have been more friendly showing me personally to the washrooms, coming to see me after my round to see how I enjoyed it. The pro shop (Dan) and bar staff were all really super. Even a ladies four-ball stopped by for a chat. This was probabaly the nicest day's golf I have had in 20 years playing. I'm dying to get my best golfing buddies to come along next time.

A gentlemens club with a golf course attached .As a guest of a member I was unable to spend money there and noted a wonderful difference in facilities between members and visitors facilities. The limited membership gives an exclusive air to the place and a feel of millionaires golf. The course is typical of a greenbelt affluent area course of the 60-£70 range, very decent but largely lacking memorable holes bar a U shaped par 5 and a scary final shot to a green uncomfortably near the clubhouse windows. The pleasure of the place is the stepping back in time ambience . Green fees with a member were peppercorn for the offering. Hcp 5

Stunning

First time playing here and I was not disappointed one bit. The whole course literally has it all. Great mix of holes. Par 3’s as good as you can find. Bunkers are literally everywhere and so so good. Greens as pure as I’ve putted on. If you love golf you’ll love playing here.

Solid course but left a bit underwhelmed

Came here with perhaps unreasonable expectations having been told it was the best in the midlands, but both myself and my partner agreed that all in all it flattered to decieve. Considering it was late November you could tell the condition was generally excellent, with some classy bunkering, carpet like (if frosty!) greens, but with a few too many so so holes, particuarly on the back nine, and an at times uninspiring layout. The plot of land at times felt too small for a golf course - some of the holes felt shoehorned in to make up the 18, with tee boxes and greens regularly crossing over each other. The clubhouse, likewise, is a lovely old building but the interior was in pretty dire need of an update!

That said, if you come not expecting the birmingham augusta, it is still a good course in excellent condition. Many holes are great, particuarly (for me) the par 3 over water 9th and a heavily bunkered par 4 10th reminiscent of sunningdale and more good holes than average ones. If it were at its best all the way round im sure it would be rated much more highly!

A very interesting and challenging layout. The course was presented in great condition although greens were a touch on the slow side. A delightful and traditional clubhouse with a fantastic array of food and beverage options. All in all a fabulous experience.

What a lovely place, pro was welcoming and helpful (always a must for me) visitors changing rooms excellent with towels for after game shower. Course is truly awesome and your going to need a few rounds to master it. Only downside the greens had been freshly hollow tined and sanded so a lottery.

Chipping/pitching area at front near barrier and indoor nets behind pro shop just the job

I'll 100% be back for sure, great day out with Tony @ TeeTours £40 for this gem :-)

Sadly i played like a plank all day but two birdies 17,18 made it all better lol.

Played on lovely autumn day, course was in excellent condition and greens were very good. Played as part of their Winter offer, which is very good value for money. Would definitely look to play again in Spring.
