my local course so I am bias.... but it is a very fair test of your golf skills, the greens are open all year round and in excellent condition, usually a bit on the quick side. the course itself places a strong emphasis on accuracy and the views from the course are worth the visit on their own. any golf members who want to play their can feel free to contact me (always up for a challenge).

despite coures in the surronding areas being closed beacon stayed open and it was surprizingly dry

VFM at Beacon Park. I've played there twice in the past month and the course, generally, was in good nick. Not that long, so you can play an iron from the tee on a few of the holes. The greens were surprisingly quick on the first occassion we played there (obviously damp weather will now slow them up somewhat). The course has a driving range, decent bar/lounge and you can hire buggies if required. Overall I can't think of that many municipals which offer better value for money.

Course has dried out nicely over the last months. Think with growing season and continued maintenance it'll be in great shape for the summer. great value course.

Course is much improved since the new greenkeepers came in. done a fantastic effort. practise facilities are pretty poor. until they install gates/styles they'll suffer from motorbike damage.

Course ok. first cut too long and second cut was ridiculous. greens pretty good but pins were in tough positions.

Course hadn't been mown due to a broken down mower, so the fairways and tee boxes were very poor. but the greens were pretty good. just needs a cut!

Played last year and the greens were awful... a friend recommended we return as it had improved. It has. Very average course, cant have too many complaints. Great layout and a real challenge. Worth a try, each to their own
