Nice to go back

The course is having some reconstruction work and it was a long walk to the first hole , the grass on the fairways was quite long, the green keeper was cutting them as I played the greens were just I remembered them and I sunk a lot of puts

This is a
very nice course but probably not suitable for very high handicappers. The terrain is fairly hilly and several of the fairways have a slope on the landing area meaning drives dont always end up where they should. The 6th hole landing area really does need to be levelled. The greens are usually in fair to good condition and due to good drainage they are open all year as are most of the tees. Clubhouse and food are very good. Recommended.

wow this course is not for faint hearted or high handicap player. I dont think i played a single shot off a flat lie, it has hills rolling from left to right, right to left, uphill, downhill, even most of the greens have slopes.
Greens was abit rough but long dry spell wouldnt have help.
Overall this course is fantastic and i will return in the near future.

Excellent course overall. Located on the side of a hill so undulating after the first few holes. However this means drainage is good and its open all year round with no winter greens in play - a major plus point as many local courses close or rsetrict the course in bad weather. There is a great variety to the holes-no two are the same. As a result of the hilly terrain there are a lot of sloping fairways and hanging lies are common. Greens are good mostly but some can be tricky to read. Certainly one of the best public courses in the North West. Give it a try you wont be disappointed.

Played this course 25/08/09 for £10 with a voucher. Lovely day and made better by the condition of the course. Greens are lovely and true...It just gets better with age and I think the management are just spending more time improving it.
Well done Blackpool

This is a challenging course with tricky sloping fairways and greens which are difficult to read. A testing walk too as some hills especially on the back nine. Local knowlegde is a must. Midweek price only £13.

This course is like marmite golfers either love it or
hate it.
I love it ,it is a realy good test of golf.
Not recomended for high handicappers but would
highly recomend for golfers who want to put themselfs to a test.
Big hitters who hit straight would have no problem.
