I played here on Saturday 18th March 2017 along with the chap that penned the previous review strangely enough!
Considering the horrible weather it was a very enjoyable experience - all credit to the club for just keeping it open as our closest local course was closed. All greens were playable and putts rolled true. It's a real test of golf in my opinion with some of the longer par 4s becoming more like par 5s
Pace of play was decent due to the weather although we've played this course numerous times in the last year and it's always been much better than most courses we play
It's reasonable value for money, a lot of golfers would equate it to a really nice Muni, and compares favourably to the other courses we play in the north west
Overall I would recommend if you're looking for a hilly, challenging track with great views

It's a really good layout and a real thinkers course. The condition is acceptable considering it is still open when all alternatives are closed due to inclement weather.

Course hadn't been mown due to a broken down mower, so the fairways and tee boxes were very poor. but the greens were pretty good. just needs a cut!

Course is much improved since the new greenkeepers came in. done a fantastic effort. practise facilities are pretty poor. until they install gates/styles they'll suffer from motorbike damage.

First time back here in a few months. Greens were in the best condition i have ever seen them; although they were oddly a bit slow. Fairways and rough in good condition, however tee boxes on several holes were suffering, particularly the newer one's. I expect time and some more rain will help this. Next thing to look at has got to be bunker placement as many of them are simply not in play. Overall a good course which is getting better each month.

Improved a lot recently
Groundskeepers have been working their socks off to get the course back into good shape and it’s paying off! Sometimes confusing about where the next hole is but enough signs about to get you there eventually!Greens quite slow but can be an advantage for those of us who welly it.
Unbelievable value at £12 a round.

Some greens had been spiked and sanded so were bobbly and slow. fairways and most tee boxes in good condition. good value.

This is a massively underated course. It's pretty testing and punishing for high handicappers as if you miss the fairways you usually in the trees, but this makes for a great setting. The price is dirt cheap for what you get. One point to note is that the course usually struggles to take the rain and can get very heavy. Don't expect to be blown away but it stands up to the top courses in the area and is great value for money.

Course has dried out nicely over the last months. Think with growing season and continued maintenance it'll be in great shape for the summer. great value course.

Very nice course
The course has been greatly improved recently with the green keepers working incredibly hard to get this course back to it's best. I've played here a few times in the past couple of months and for £12 it's great value.Reviewer Rating
