Great 'thinking' course

Great course with variety of different holes to make the golfer think of course management. With many holes consisting of water around the fairways it makes them big tee shots vital to avoid the drink. Greens in great condition too.

Quality Course, real hidden gem

Golfshake Team ReviewReally great course with holes that will challenge all level of golfer. First few holes are all about placement off the tee rather than distance. Greens are all relatively small and require an accurate approach. 9th hole over the fishing lake is the feature hole. Only 2 par 5's (9&10). Will definitely be returning.

Lovely course, friendly members, good pro and well stocked pro-shop but extremely rude old man who drives around the course in a buggy checking if you are members or you have paid. Drove up to us this evening just as I was about to tee off on a hole and basically three us off the course as my mate had light grey socks on with tailored shorts. He huffed and puffed and grumbled about socks having to be white. Refused to let us play and pay in the bar after our round as the pro-shop was closed on arrival and then despite having the round price on a text from the pro the staff in the bar refused to let us play for that and insisted we should pay more.... even though the thoroughly pleasant pro was okay with us paying after our round!!

Parkland course, which uses water hazards especially on the first few holes, which require accurate tee shots over length. Course in nice overall condition with greens rolling and looking good. Some isolated animal damage on 18th. Fairways well cut and bunkers ok too. Not many playing mid afternoon weekday but seemed friendly enough. Some nice holes. I liked the short par 3 6th uphill onto a raised two levelled green through trees. The 7th, swampy, very tough dog leg which you would take bogey on. Nice drive over water on 9. Pleasant place to play especially along side River Trent with wildlife and nice trees/shrubs. Good value at £13. Did not try clubhouse but changing rooms good enough. Would play again and/or join if more local.
