OK

Not the best. Course in average condition and is very congested at weekends. Prepare for a 5 hour plus round with golfers jumping across holes !!
If I played again it would have to be midweek

Very very dry. with ordinary greens

The fairways were in a desperate state, the greens were better, but certainly not true or consistent and they are clearly just pouring as many people as they could onto the course. 8 minutes intervals and constant fourballs will never work. Disappointing.

Needs some love

This golf course could be quite good. Unfortunately the condition of it isn't the best. The bunkers are the worst aspect, many had very little sand in them and many stones, none were raked. They were down to the packed sand which was like playing off mud. The fairways were muddy (admittedly it wasn't great weather the day I was playing). I took a trolley and it was hard work dragging it through the mud on some holes. It feels unloved. Like a lot of courses (Selsdon being another), it doesn't feel like the golf is priority. It's probably a product of golf's diminishing popularity but if they kept it in a better state then I'm sure they'd get more people coming. How much does it cost to put some sand in the bunkers?
The actual layout, although short in places is interesting and some of the holes have a nice feel to them. The 11th for example is a really nice hole. I also like the drive on the 6th with the views over the valley. I saw my drive against the backdrop of the autumn trees and it was very picturesque.
As I say though it's let down by the condition. If you're going to call yourself a championship course then at least have some sand in the bunkers!

Disapointed

3 hours to do 9 holes and then we gave up !! Desperately overbooked, people getting frustrated and jumping from hole to hole just to get further holes played. Not a great experience.

Good fun. Just there to help tune up your game. No sand traps so not be taken as a 9 hole too seriously.

Budget option for £10 on Good Friday

Tees rough and bunkers very poor with no rakes. But did have 18 flags unlike last time I played.

falconwood feb 18

its short with the yellows at under 5300 so it is a confidence booster compared to average 6000 plus local tracks.more hilly than I recalled so some serious cardio at times.most bunkers awfull or were G.U.R and greens were not great but what would you expect for the price. I enjoyed it pace of play was good and shot 87 which is good for me.Poor signage means a first timer could get lost

Get what you pay for!

Played 2pm on a sunny Friday afternoon for only £10 each - so comments are in context.
Course virtually empty so fast rate of play.
But greens mostly in poor state with big untreated bare patches, no bunker rakes, no ball cleaners. Some vandalism. One flag missing.
But it was cheap and quick

The layout of the The Championship course is alright with some nice holes especially the 11th. However the greens were not in great health. Tough to make them good at this time of year but still, they were disappointing. The 17th tee was pure mud as well. £32 for a winter round seems steep especially when you can play the superior Selsdon just up the road
for £25.
