Terrific course, in great shape and good value as played on a sat afternoon for under £25 a head.

Nice setting and drive in. Friendly pro and marshal. No warm up net but range right next to the first tee. Very good layout good variety of holes, strong par 3's in particular. All neat and tidy, mature tree lined fairways. Greens a solid 9 on the stimp despite some work having been done recently, potentially seriously quick. Receptive despite that.
Hard to find much to moan about. There is a preponderance of uphill semi blind approach shots, perhaps half the holes. Par 5's all played very similar. Last hole could be better for such a nice course.
Overall well deserves its ranking here.

course in great shape, and got a good deal from an online booking website. Will be back soon, and play a lot better.

Considering the rain the Greens were immaculate, very interesting course with only a few holes where you can see the flag from the tee. I have played a number of courses in the area but this is easily the best layout. Highly recommend especially for the midweek price.

Course was in superb nick - fairways as good as anywhere locally and greens true and fast. Course was empty which always helped

What a stunning golf course , great test of your skills with greens to test you even further. The staff were all friendly and the facilities are top notch.

I was told that the fairways here were good. They weren't just good, they were probably the best fairways I've ever been on. Well, when I found the fairways anyway... The tees and greens were likewise in excellent condition.
The terrain is generally very undulating, and I'm not sure that there are many holes which you'd describe as flat. The fairways are generally fairly generous, but there are a few which tighten up a little. I don't remember a lot of holes where you could see the flag from the tee, so be prepared for a fair number of doglegs.
What you won't get are any bad holes. I'm pretty safe in saying that you will enjoy playing here, from the warm welcome you receive in the pro shop, to the final putt at the 18th, this is just an awesome place to play golf.

I had the pleasure to visit this club in early October 2011, the entrance is impressive and the club house is very nice with good staff although the visitors changing room was a bit small with poor seats and hanging space. the course is possably one of the best in Essex and when we visited it was in very good condition although my 3 on the 18th helped. wonderful test of golf from all tees but best from the whites. the paths were good and had just been refurbished, thanks for a very nice day.
