Worth a visit.
Play this course regularly with a member. Lots of greens are raised so can't always see to the pin which makes it a challenge. New buggie path in the front nine has added to the overall look of the course. There seems to be a lot of change going in with the club house etc so will be an interesting period for the club.Reviewer Rating

Don't get the hype
Never played here before, always been put off by the green tee price & had heard it was a little snobby, but found a cheap deal on TeeOffTimes and thought “why not”.Immediate bad taste in the mouth when one of the guys I was playing with was told he had to buy and wear a pair of white socks from the pro shop because he’d worn black ones. We were the last group off all day, hardly anyone there, does it really matter? And people wonder why the numbers participating in golf are shrinking, this kind stuff puts people off.
The course, nice enough but nothing special, and a silly amount of holes that were the same: tee off from an elevated point down into a valley then hit next/approach shot up to an elevated tee that has drop offs. Course not in particularly good condition, bobbly greens and unkempt fairways, appreciate the extreme weather we’ve had this summer but cheaper, busier courses have coped better than this. Opening 8 holes are probably the most difficult I’ve played which isn't a complaint at all.
In short, I probably won’t return, especially with Toot Hill just down the road which is cheaper and vastly more interesting and in better condition than here.

Super course with a hint of snobbery
Course is in a great condition, fairways are green and the greens are running true. The only hole that was below par was the 11th hole with the fairway being patchy and brown and the greens un-kept. Other than that I could not fault the course and would recommend it to anyone as one of the best in Essex. The only negative was the 'white socks' rule. A friend was told he could not wear his grey trainer socks as all socks have to be white, therefore he had to purchase a pair from the pro shop. A ridiculous rule in my opinion, seeing as we saw many other people walking around looking very scruffy.

Cracking course
Ok, so played here for the first time having heard such great reports.Firstly, could have had a slightly better reception in the pro shop. Felt a bit stuffy if I'm being honest.
The course itself is in great condition and the greens were superb.
If you enjoy dog legs you will love the front 9. Holes 1,3,4,5 and 6 all dog leg leading to lots of blind tee shots which is difficult if you haven't played here before.
The back 9 does straighten out a bit more and rather enjoyable.
Its a great course, I would go back and would recommend it to golfer of all abilities.

Abridge golf club
Played Abridge during hot summer when lots of courses were dry. The greens had been watered in very good condition and were a good pace, some of the fairways had been watered to. This is not an easy golf course especially the first three holes on the back nine and felt I played well playing to my handicap.Reviewer Rating

Nice layout.
Played in early June. Always a nice layout and good condition. Greens were very slow although I guess there was little the ground staff could do if lots of rain previous week.(Round played: Jun 2018 - Score: 89 Handicap: 10.4)

Badly in need of refurbishment
Nice course and friendly staff in the bar. Nice food. Overall though, considering the eye-watering green fees, the place really needs some improvement. The car park stinks of sewage or stagnant pond, the buggies max speed is about 5 mph, they emit fumes which are unpleasant but they do have USB charging sockets which is surprising. The staff in the Pro Shop were business-like without being particularly welcoming(Round played: May 2018 - Score: 100 Handicap: 24.2)
