Worth a visit

The course was looking nice and tidy as it's been cut well. The greens were ok but the bunkers were dreadful with some with hardly any sand. We were informed prior that they were trialling some new sand in some of the bunkers and hopefully they improve these. The course has a mix of hole lengths and hazards to test your skills. Driver is not always best option off the tee. Will be returning again .

Getting better everytime I play

the extra investment is visible. Some really nice touches around some of the tee boxes with flower beds, roped entrances to the tees etc are a nice touch.

Lots of work on the greens so although they are bobbly now they will be amazing this summer.

Cracking course and no surprise it is so popular with GolfBreaks.

Bringing my best buddy from the south coast next week who plays off 4 to see how he rates it!

Course was generally in good condition although the greens had been renovated so not in brilliant condition. Big downside for me was the bar being closed (on a Monday) so we had to use the hotel bar @ ?5+ per pint.

Interesting course to play and in good condition when played in early October. I suspect it gets a little boggy in the winter.

Very good course with some tight pins and played very long at the weekend. Greens were in really good condition but slightly slow due to heavy rain last week. Theres a couple of holes that you are slightly in the dark regarding ball position but apart from that the course has lots of challenging holes and really good test.

Course has really flourished this summer

Always a great test of golf. Greenkeepers preparing to invest in improving the bunkers in September which will be an excellent improvement. Always a popular venue!

As a member of 8+ years I do play 2-3 times a week.....love it

The course was in a good condition, greens good and running true after the early morning heavy rains. First nine a good nine for all golfers the back nine you need to be able to fit the ball straight and long .

Rough in need of attention

Visited here in June 2021; played in a 2 ball behind 4 members. Waited on every tee, approach shot, appalling etiquette from the 1st tee onwards, round took just under 5 hours. Nice course but the rough needs attention, grass cut but not collected so you literally had to step on your ball to have any chance of finding it. Will not be rushing back to The Abbey, far better courses to play in the area, and members we encountered were the worst in over 20 years of playing, spoilt a day off from work!

Great course well worth playing..

Super course quirky in places in great condition. Second cut is good but make sure you stay out of the rough as it is deep. Greens are very good and should be fantastic once the grass stops seeding.

Looks fabulous this summer!

Always enjoy a round at The Abbey especially this time of year. The greenkeepers have let some of the rough grow up around the top fringe of some of the bunkers and between a couple of the adjacent holes on the back nine so wild flowers look really pretty. The course is in great condition after the recent wet spell and warm weather - testament to that is the amount of visiting golf societies. Met a bunch of golfers recently who travelled up from Swansea. Just think of the top golf courses on that south wales coast that they have on their door step and they choose to travel to Redditch for a 2 day stay over - says it all if you ask me!

Well done the Abbey greenkeepers! Craig, Andy, Sid and Matt!

The option of the 2 bars is a great move and the BBQ by the practice putting green (I recommend the Cajun chicken burger!)

I've played The Abbey many times. I shot an 85 with 8 pars today and still look back on the scorecard where the course bit me hard. It's never a push over!
