Looks fabulous this summer!
Always enjoy a round at The Abbey especially this time of year. The greenkeepers have let some of the rough grow up around the top fringe of some of the bunkers and between a couple of the adjacent holes on the back nine so wild flowers look really pretty. The course is in great condition after the recent wet spell and warm weather - testament to that is the amount of visiting golf societies. Met a bunch of golfers recently who travelled up from Swansea. Just think of the top golf courses on that south wales coast that they have on their door step and they choose to travel to Redditch for a 2 day stay over - says it all if you ask me!Well done the Abbey greenkeepers! Craig, Andy, Sid and Matt!
The option of the 2 bars is a great move and the BBQ by the practice putting green (I recommend the Cajun chicken burger!)
I've played The Abbey many times. I shot an 85 with 8 pars today and still look back on the scorecard where the course bit me hard. It's never a push over!

Getting better everytime I play
the extra investment is visible. Some really nice touches around some of the tee boxes with flower beds, roped entrances to the tees etc are a nice touch.Lots of work on the greens so although they are bobbly now they will be amazing this summer.
Cracking course and no surprise it is so popular with GolfBreaks.
Bringing my best buddy from the south coast next week who plays off 4 to see how he rates it!

Great course well worth playing..
Super course quirky in places in great condition. Second cut is good but make sure you stay out of the rough as it is deep. Greens are very good and should be fantastic once the grass stops seeding.(Round played: Jun 2021 - Score: 107 Handicap: 24.9)

Love this course
Never get bored playing The Abbey, every hole is so different, and no easy holes....there is something to catch you out on every hole. Take the par 5's all needs some precision driving so you have a good 2nd shot and not blocked out by a huge oak tree.Course is in really nice condition. Greenkeepers are grrowing the grass around the fairway bunkers which is making i look really nice - but a b**tch if you end up in it instead of the and (bit like some of the courses in Lincolnshire like Forest Pines and Woodhal Spa but not as deep thank goodness!)
It's been really busy with golf breaks over September which says it all. Even bumped into some visitors from Royl Porthcawl who enjoyed it. Says it all.

An amazing Local Course.
This really is an amazing Course that sits almost in the middle of a housing Scheme. Easy enough to find if you use a Sat Nav. Once you enter the Car park and see the Course it really does look amazing. Not a bad walk if you sometimes struggle as only a couple of holes where you have an uphill walk. Some fantastic holes and they have just completed 3 new holes which are superb. Give it a try and you will NOT be disappointed.Reviewer Rating

Never tire of playing the Abbey
Proper test of golf! I enjoy it as it is not easy. No push over holes as there is danger everywhere. If you are visiting the Midlands - book a round. just 3 miles off M42.(Round played: Jun 2020 - Score: 87 Handicap: 13.4)

Sometimes get held up with slow play & long walks to some holes between tees but other than that no complaints.
Staff are great & facilities tremendous.
