I recently played this course and it was a great change from my usual. There were lots of different challenges on different holes, and the fairways and greens were in great condition. It was a fun round of golf and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a challenge.

Course has really flourished this summer

Always a great test of golf. Greenkeepers preparing to invest in improving the bunkers in September which will be an excellent improvement. Always a popular venue!

As a member of 8+ years I do play 2-3 times a week.....love it

Great course well worth playing..

Super course quirky in places in great condition. Second cut is good but make sure you stay out of the rough as it is deep. Greens are very good and should be fantastic once the grass stops seeding.

Looks fabulous this summer!

Always enjoy a round at The Abbey especially this time of year. The greenkeepers have let some of the rough grow up around the top fringe of some of the bunkers and between a couple of the adjacent holes on the back nine so wild flowers look really pretty. The course is in great condition after the recent wet spell and warm weather - testament to that is the amount of visiting golf societies. Met a bunch of golfers recently who travelled up from Swansea. Just think of the top golf courses on that south wales coast that they have on their door step and they choose to travel to Redditch for a 2 day stay over - says it all if you ask me!

Well done the Abbey greenkeepers! Craig, Andy, Sid and Matt!

The option of the 2 bars is a great move and the BBQ by the practice putting green (I recommend the Cajun chicken burger!)

I've played The Abbey many times. I shot an 85 with 8 pars today and still look back on the scorecard where the course bit me hard. It's never a push over!

Love this course

Never get bored playing The Abbey, every hole is so different, and no easy holes....there is something to catch you out on every hole. Take the par 5's all needs some precision driving so you have a good 2nd shot and not blocked out by a huge oak tree.
Course is in really nice condition. Greenkeepers are grrowing the grass around the fairway bunkers which is making i look really nice - but a b**tch if you end up in it instead of the and (bit like some of the courses in Lincolnshire like Forest Pines and Woodhal Spa but not as deep thank goodness!)

It's been really busy with golf breaks over September which says it all. Even bumped into some visitors from Royl Porthcawl who enjoyed it. Says it all.

An amazing Local Course.

This really is an amazing Course that sits almost in the middle of a housing Scheme. Easy enough to find if you use a Sat Nav. Once you enter the Car park and see the Course it really does look amazing. Not a bad walk if you sometimes struggle as only a couple of holes where you have an uphill walk. Some fantastic holes and they have just completed 3 new holes which are superb. Give it a try and you will NOT be disappointed.

Just renewed membership for 7th year

It is a great course, and not resting on any laurels.

Quite a bit of work has been done so some new fairway bunkers have gone in (currently GUR) and a few closed up. All the greens have been worked on and already much improved over the last 3 weeks but still a way to go until they are 'summer ready'. But just playing early April and seeing how manicured the fairways are looking off the tee I think this course is going to be incredible over the summer.

Although a member for 6 years already and I still play 30+ other courses over the course of a year I always look forward to returning to my home course.

The club house (Tawny Bar) has been extended and is much bigger and better. Just beware you could be having a post match pint with a bunch of girls just wearing robes having let the spa for a drink/lunch........... :-)

Great course, despite weird front nine configuration

Great course, almost every hole has something that could hurt your score. Front nine configuration is weird though because the 8th hole seems like it should be the 9th as it plays back up to the hotel. So it plays like a front 8 and back 10! That doesn't, however, detract from the quality of the course.

In great nick!

As a member i play plenty at The Abbey and the course is great condition.
Guests paying £12.50 is a cracking winter deal!

Though I played 8 shots over my handicap today it is a great knock!

Course is playing nice

Great challenging course. You must be precise with so many tee shots so as not to get blocked out for your second.
Not a weak hole anyway - they can all wreck any card!
The funny thing to me is the 3 par 3's are all stroke index 16-18, but all have so much water surrounding them - all potential card wreckers - beware!
Greens are in great condition. Well done to Craig Tidmarsh and his greenkeeping staff for a tip top job this year.
Never spoken to anyone who has not enjoyed the Abbey...I've been playing solidly as a member for 7 years!
Today I had a shocker +10 over handicap - so this course can bite!

PS Best driving range by miles for miles around!

Course was in great condition, good fairways and first class greens. Very friendly and helpful in the pro shop. Friendly and swift service in Tawny Bar (19th hole), lovely patio over looking the 18th green and fairway so you can watch others coming in whilst having refreshments.
