Thorpe Wood Golf Club

Designed by Peter Alliss and Dave Thomas, both of whom were behind The Belfry, Thorpe Wood has been voted one of the best pay and play golf courses in the county. The bunkers and greens are kept in top condition all year round and the course provides an excellent challenge for all golfers.
Review Comment: "A good challenging course with open fairways. Runs close to River Nene so has good views. Another well maintained course and good value."
Orton Meadows Golf Club

Orton Meadows is the sister club to Thorpe Wood. Water features are frequent throughout the course, with the pick of the holes being the challenging dogleg third or the short but often stumping 15th, which requires carrying a pond.

Lakeside Lodge Golf Club

The Cambridgeshire Golf Club

Tydd St Giles Golf & Leisure Club

Tydd St Giles is one of few courses in the UK where you can enjoy excellent play, 365 days a year. You’ll find it quietly tucked away on the Lincolnshire/Cambridgeshire borders - 15 minutes from King's Lynn and 25 minutes from Spalding and Peterborough. With plenty of water hazards to keep you on your toes, this is one of the finest courses throughout the county.
Review Comment: "Well worth a visit. Huge greens and huge bunkers. Flat as a pancake, but still not easy. About seven water hazards, all clearly marked on the scorecard. Nice friendly staff in the 19th."
Brampton Park Golf Club

Review Comment: "First time round here. Excellent club and course. Latter was in good condition and greens were receptive and rolled well. Nice variety of holes throughout the course and an excellent test of golf. Fairly flat with the odd longish walk between tees. Club were very friendly and looked after our society very well. Well worth playing if you're in the area."
Elton Furze Golf Club

Elton Furze provides 18 holes, designed as two loops of 9, and has made use of the natural contours of the landscape, as well as many other mature parkland trees which were on site before development began. The siting of several small lakes and water hazards provides a very attractive and interesting course. Also housing great practice facilities and a covered driving range, this is a must visit.
Review Comment: "Well looked after by the pro shop and as we were in a society, easy to book in, course was good, greens were excellent."
Bourn Golf Club

The expertly designed 18-hole parkland course is set in a quiet rural countryside location with rolling hills and many large mature trees, yet is only eight miles from Cambridge. A brook runs through the course, coming into play on several holes and combined with three lakes creates a very picturesque setting. Four lakes featuring eight holes over and around water give a test of golf that rewards good thinking and sound shot making.

Ely City Golf Club

Gog Magog Golf Club

Gog Magog hosts two top quality courses for visitors, the Old Course and the Wandlebury Course. The Old Course, opened in 1901, has all the character you would expect from a course with so much history. It has great variety, great views and is a great test for all abilities. The Wandlebury Course, opened in 1997, is well established and has hosted Regional Qualifying events for The Open. Longer than the Old Course and with USGA specification greens, it also has great vistas.
Review Comment: "A course I would happy play over and over again. In fabulous condition, all holes have a challenge and no two are alike. Some fabulous views too. Catering is excellent, all staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. The practice area is well worth a visit for all aspects of your game."
Girton Golf Club

With some of the tightest fairways and tricky par 3s in the county, Girton is a great option for the golfers trying to challenge their accuracy. Girton also houses one of the longest par 5s in the entire country, any round here is bound to be a memorable one.
Review Comment: "Course is worth a visit if you are local. Tidy, shortish course but quite challenging in places - especially off the tee. Have done some work recently to try and improve some of the holes. The greens were really good and subtle breaks can be tough to read. Enjoyable course."
St Ives Golf Club

St Ives is one of the most luxury and pristine courses on this list. With immaculate greens and very well-kept fairways, this is a must play for anyone in the area. With some great practice facilities on site, and a challenging course, St Ives is recognised as one of the finest golf courses in the region.
Review Comment: "I always find that the course gets better every time I go back. The greens are always great and there is some real scoring chances to go at."
Peterborough Milton Golf Club

Many of the holes have scenic views over the Milton Hall. The course, built in 1938, is a classic James Braid parkland course, with tree-lined fairways, well-guarded greens and features a large lake that divides the 1st and 18th fairways.
