Good challenge!
Good challenging course, tight and tree lined so be careful off the tree. Pace of play is an issue here, been on the course a few times and each time here I have been waiting for next shot. But overall, can't grumble for the good price.Reviewer Rating

Thorpewood Golf Course
The course itself has some really nice holes. The third is a good hole, running along side the river. The tee boxes are not in good condition, very uneven, lots of them have very little grass. The fairways are already hard and some look a little bakes after the sun. The greens on the other hand were in excellent condition. Good putting green and separate chipping green.Reviewer Rating

Gone downhill a lot
The course has gone downhill a lot since I last played here only a few months ago. So disappointed with the state of the greens, they were bitty and bobbly, not flat, not true, they were in awful condition and for me they ruined the visit. As for the rest of the facilities they are still great, the staff are still friendly and the food is still very good. The other issue, which is too re-occuring at the minute, is they have decided to make the whole venue card payment only and that doesn't suit everyone. We are no longer in covid or lockdown times so come on some people still want to deal in cash for christs sake. Pace of play was good, the fairways and tees weren't too bad and the weather was reasonably kind. I was just so unhappy with the poor state of the greens.Reviewer Rating

Excellent for a public course
This venue is excellent for a public pay and play course. The condition, facilities, clubhouse, shop and staff are all first class. The greens were in great condition as were the bunkers, tees and fairways. Very impressed and great value for money too. Made this visit extremely enjoyable. Also helped to have nice weather. Very happy to recommend. Will definitely be back.Reviewer Rating

Rated the 9th best course in England
Peter Alliss and Dave Thomas design course. Rated the 9th best course in England Is a mature tree line parkland municipal course which had an easy walk with undulating & some tight fairways.Greens were good & ran pretty true. Fairways were in good condition. But if you run off the fairways into the 1st cut or under the trees it is very easy to lose a ball.
Some bunker had wooden steps going down. There was several long par 4. So if you’re a short hitter like me you will struggle to get there in 2.
Practise chipping/ putting green. Driving range. Ball waters
Also has a great pro shop with a huge selection of equipment and clothing.
Overall a very good course will definitely play again and worth a visit

Nice course
Lovely tight course, quite forgiving but was a bit wet and muddy however. Nothing to take away from the course though, really nice and friendly.Reviewer Rating
