The South Staffordshire Golf Club hosted the latest event on the TP Tour and it took extra holes to determine the outcome. Staverton Park's Simon Lilly claimed his fifth victory on the circuit after overcoming Gian Marco Petrozzi in a playoff.

Both players carded two under par 69s, but it was Lilly who won with a birdie on the first additional hole to secure a title that moves him into joint-third in the all-time standings with Sean Whiffin and Andrew Marshall. Francis McGuirk holds eight victories, but Daniel Gaunt remains the dominant force with 12.

Among the high quality field included former Ryder Cup star Peter Baker, who shot a 72, with the players battling strong winds on this excellent parkland course. Enville Golf Club pro Richard Copsey narrow missed out on a playoff but finished one back after shooting a 70, but was nonetheless pleased with his performance.

The TP Tour next moves onto revered Walton Heath (13 July) and Moor Park (15 July) as normality continues to be restored to the lives of professional golfers.
