Live Coverage of Brabazon Trophy to be Shown From Alwoodley Golf Club

By: Golfshake Editor | Tue 30 Apr 2019

The Brabazon Trophy - the English Men's Amateur Stroke Play Championship - is one of the most prestigious events on the amateir circuit, this year hosted by the renowned Alwoodley Golf Club in Yorkshire, and most excitingly the venue will broadcast live coverage to follow across social media channels.

Historically, the likes of Sir Michael Bonallack, Sandy Lyle, Charl Schwartzel and Jordan Smith have won this tournament.

The Brabazon, a 72-hole strokeplay tournament, begins on Thursday May 30 and ends on Sunday June 2. There will be live coverage of the opening day. The Brabazon is one of the highlights of the amateur calendar – and even more so in a home Walker Cup year with Great Britain and Ireland’s best players hoping to catch the selectors’ eye ahead of September’s match against the USA at Royal Liverpool. Fans of amateur golf around the world will be able to watch the international field as they tackle the first course to be designed by the great architect Dr Alister MacKenzie.

Coverage will be broadcast on the club’s YouTube channel and also shared on social media. Not only will it be a chance to watch the tour players of the future, those clubs with a local favourite in the field will be able to see their man in action.
