What the club says: The Alwoodley Golf Club, founded in 1907, is officially recognised as one of Britain's finest inland heathland courses. Alwoodley's runs almost straight out and back, the inward nine being tougher as most of the holes are played into the fresh winds off the Yorkshire Moors. 2019 sees the Club hosting The Brabazon Trophy and The R&A Open Regional Qualifier.

Just awesome

Played twilight for £65 Sunday 4pm. Course just a visual dream and the folks welcoming and friendly. Easily of course Leeds best and a nice treat now and again.

Just a beautiful, pretty course.

We were made to feel very welcoming by the staff on arrival. The food was exceptional and fantastic value. A great practice area and pro shop. It has to be the prettiest clubhouse I have ever seen.
Once on the course it is a challenging place if you?re not straight. The gorse and heather rough was punishing if you found it. You have to tee across a few holes and finding the next tee could be tricky if you?re not following another group. You can make out the Augusta connection on the bunker shaping especially on the par 3, 11th. Just stunning!

Top top golf course!

Top quality course from the first to the last. Need to be pretty straight, or scramble well to score.

A Challenging Course. A must play

McKenzie's first course is an excellent track. A tough but fair test of golf. The back 9 into the wind is a challenge

One of the North of England's very best courses. Moorland with sweeping holes, wonderful greens and an atmosphere of understated quality.

Very welcoming pro and members..
All involved were very friendly and helpful..
You need to be very straight off the tee on all the holes, if not severely punished..

Played in December 2013 after not having played the course for some years. The course was in superb condition for winter golf and the new bunkering on several holes has improved the course even more. Cannot think of a better looking par 3 than the 11th with its new bunkering. Every hole is a challenge but make your score on the front 9 and hang on for the back 9 back into the prevailing wind. A great test of golf and a very welcoming club all round.

Had the privilege of being the 1st visitors of 2013 to play on the full 18 holes and full greens. Staff were very friendly and helpful and we had the course to ourselves, Millionaires Golf! At £57, good value despite the weather. Would love to play again in the Summer. In my view very similar to Moortown, but not a patch on Ganton, which is a similar cost.

Alwoodley is a fantastic course and it was in great condition when I played it even after all the rain we've been having lately. From the moment I arrived at Alwoodley I felt like I was a member for the day and everyone was really helpful and friendly. The course is tough, if your not straight you will end up getting another ball out of your bag as the rough is very unforgiving. I thoroughly enjoyed my round and would definately recommend it to others, but at £80 a round it's not a place you can visit often
