Testing course

A very testing course, for novices. Lots of water and narrow fairways, plus tracks across the fairways. Having said that, it was interesting to play it and will do again.

Interesting course but not maintained to the level needed. Greens and tees were largely brown because irrigation system had broken down. Designed by Peter Allis and Clive Clark has some good holes, good use of lakes and mixture of tight and open fairways. Fairly short overall. Played as part of Groupon deal

Has the potential to be a very interesting course. However, the greens are in very poor condition - buckets of water had just been dumped on them in an attempt to make them less parched and they were too long. You don't expect to be thumping a 10 foot putt in June. It's clear drainage is a problem - so would avoid outside the summer months. £38 for a weekend round is steep. On a positive, the course isn't busy.

A shadow of its former self

It's such a pity to see this course getting worse every time I play it - almost all of the course is in poor condition, I can't think of something that stands out as being normal for what you pay.

Course is extremely wet and cannot drain - it hasn't rained for a few days but today we were playing into puddles on almost every fairway, not to mention mud. Fairways like rough, greens haven't been worth speaking of for the last two years. Granted we received a small discount due to the condition but it wasn't sufficient really.

Facilities are also being let go, a real shame and I wonder what the future holds. It's lovely to have this kind of pay and play course in the area but they really need to spend some money to survive.

Great Course, just very wet

Always liked this course. Whether has done a number on it. For price we paid, I am happy to try again. Always nice going out and playing here.

I’ve played in better farmyards

24 of us played on 10 Feb and almost universally we agreed this was a terrible course.
Even allowing for the recent snow it is obvious that little money has been spend. The course requires extensive drainage, tee boxes need to be clearly delineated and smartened up. Approaches to the greens needs weeds hacked back and paths require wood savings, gravel or tarmac.
The greens were atrocious with putts bumping around so that nothing was true

I remember playing this course some tears ago and it was much better than present.
Staff were friendly and the pro very knowledgable as was the starter.
In summary there are too much better golf courses in Surrey , Berks and Kent.

Getting better and better

Played this course many times over the years. The new owners really have taken this club by the horns with much needed investment especially on the greens. Must play in 2018!

Great Value course

18 holes for £15 on a great course, have played it many time before and its always wet but still managed to have a great time.
Greens were good and bunkers were in great condition as I had to play out of them a few times. Cant fault this course for what we paid.

The course is attractive and interesting but VERY, VERY wet on the day we played. Very good value on an early morning tee-off.

Rubbish

Course is in poor condition, it is a shadow of its former self. Was very disappointed and will not be going back. Very over priced for its state. Save your time and money and go to a better course.

Nice course but needs work

I play this course lots and for £15 twilight rate from 3pm it's good value. However course was in worse condition I've ever seen it to be, greens too slow with many bald patches, more bunkers GUR than playable and Tee boxes not very nice. Really hope management spend some money and get course in better shape as I always enjoy playing it.
