Challenging layout in good condition.
At 7100 odd yards with only 1 par 4 under 400, it’s a tough test. There are some challenging teeshots with well placed bunkering, and although the fairways are generous, gorse and thick rough awaits any waywardness. The green complexes are sufficiently sloped and tiered to provide some interest with approach shots. The course could do with a driveable or short par 4 to add some variety. The fairways and greens were in excellent condition, whilst the greens couldn’t be described as overly quick, they are true and more than adequate given my round was midweek and following some rain. The fairways have fairway watering and so are green and lush, and are a far cry from the burnt out bare fairways at other club courses at this time of year.
One downside is that whilst the vast majority of bunkers looked good, there were a couple of bunkers in poor condition or out of play - these didn’t tend to be green side or generally prominently in play though.
Warmly welcomed at reception on arrival and had a chat with some friendly members on the first tee.
Overall had a good experience, given the age of the course, it’s in good condition and is a challenging layout which will become better and better as it matures. I do hope that the final 9 being built will have a couple of shorter par4s (under 400 yards) to add a little variety

One of the best in Essex
Firstly, very welcoming staff from the reception, halfway house and starter too.First time playing and would love to return again. Ingrebourne is a challenging inland links course that makes you forget that you are on the Essex/London border. Long course by traditional standards, but hard fairways gave the ball a lot of extra roll. Very challenging off the tee with some very tight fairways to hit with plenty of long rough and gorse covering both sides. If you can find the fairways you've done well. Greens were large in size, with lots of undulation, we visited during maintenance, and the greens were in great condition considering. I imagine that when this place is windy, it is a real challenge for any golfer.
All in all, one of the best courses I've played, and would thoroughly recommend.

Best conditioned course in Essex !
This course is by far the best course in Essex at the moment due to fact that it has a all course watering system in place. The T boxes, Greens and Fairways are all in immaculate condition which is more than can be said of 95% of courses in southern England.Reviewer Rating

Best Golf Course in Essex
Absolutely love the links course at Ingrebourne, the best course I've played in Essex. Greens are huge and in excellent condition, borrows everywhere making putting a real test. Plays long in the winter, with the yellows off 6,633 yards but a true links course. Staff are super friendly and I'd recommend this course to everyone. Only opened 18 months ago and, at the moment, a real gem to find but suspect it will get incredibly popular over time.Reviewer Rating
