Poor condition

This course has gone downhill since lockdown, greens are poor, lots of bare patches on the fairway and lots of GUR too. The price for a round has also rocketed, definitely not worth the money.

I'll not be back for a while.

It's fair to say that the people behind Ingrebourne must be passionate about their plan. And s lot of effort has already been put into the project. But for me there are many flaws.

It's difficult to know who Ingrebourne is trying to speak to. While I thought the fairways were fair and generally rewarded good shots of the tee, see same can't be said for shots onto the green. In my opinion green should be a challenge - quick, sloping, undulating - all fine. But shots onto these greens were a complete lottery. So, the the most patient of high handicappers would find them frustrating.

I get the feeling a low handicapper would want a lot more from their golf experience than this. It's far from a beautiful place. Looking up from the fairway, the horizon is industrial and closer to home are the many signs of a not quite complete building project.

I'd give it another go in ten years, but until then, there are hundreds of better options.

Tough but fair..

Newish links style course in East London/Essex border. Long enough in the winter but still playable after all the rain and like all links course protected by the speed of the greens in summer. My only real complaint would be the bunkering..the sand is very variable both in terms of depth but also i think type of sand.
Good welcome by all at the club, not cheap as a visitor!

Links style course

Ingrebourne is a links style course, unusual to find in and around London. Good layout with good enough variation. Greens were difficult to get onto but were in good condition and ran true. Quite a few narrow fairways and the tall stuff was either difficult or lost.

A young course, but the facilities are to notch and the course did not disappoint. The greens were big and with plenty of slopes to test any putter. For October it was very playable and the clubhouse is impressive. The practice chipping and putting greens were fantastic.

First time at this new course inland links course in Essex. Nice to have something different in the area, still needs a couple of years for the course to mature but thought the front nine was great. Greens were extremely tough on the back nine, no flat spots on any greens and running quick. Think £65 is overpriced so will probably come back only once a year.

13 holes on the main course open (as of Oct 19) and you play holes 5-9 again to make 18. The full 18 should be open by mid 2020. Typical "Links" course, undulating and long fairways with some difficult greens. Add in the windy nature of this venue and the harsh rough (gorse), this is a challenging course for all handicaps. Fairways and greens are in very good conditions although some settling on fairways still occurring on a few holes as to be expected on a new course. The views are excellent and this will be a superb course in short time. Overall I had a very enjoyable round. Easy it's not, but if you like a challenge and your course management is of reasonable standard you will enjoy playing this course. The clubhouse is modern with good food. It combines with gym and bowls, so more of a country club than a traditional golf club and membership prices seem reasonable in comparison with other courses.

Good new course, bit longer and more serious than was expecting. In excellent condition, rough and gorse punishing if you are off line. Green side bunkering rather weak in comparison to high standard of design overall. Be prepared for a test. Views and hospitality at club were also very good.

Great but overpriced

First visit to the North course where you play the same 9 twice to make a round. £45 inc full English brekkie was a tad steep. The course is a good challenge but the pricing needs reviewing. Greens were in superb nick and the fairways had plenty of bounce ( due to the dry spell I presume).

One of the best in Essex

Firstly, very welcoming staff from the reception, halfway house and starter too.

First time playing and would love to return again. Ingrebourne is a challenging inland links course that makes you forget that you are on the Essex/London border. Long course by traditional standards, but hard fairways gave the ball a lot of extra roll. Very challenging off the tee with some very tight fairways to hit with plenty of long rough and gorse covering both sides. If you can find the fairways you've done well. Greens were large in size, with lots of undulation, we visited during maintenance, and the greens were in great condition considering. I imagine that when this place is windy, it is a real challenge for any golfer.

All in all, one of the best courses I've played, and would thoroughly recommend.
