Won’t rush back

Bad greens, simple as. Apparently £30 at weekends, there’s many course in the area cheaper with much better greens than this. Bobbly, bare, patchy. Loads of new tees but the greens need urgent attention. Totally dry and not watered at all

Played course for first time yesterday on a perfect day. With a Society from Southport PARK G C.
Found layout rather confusing but playing with a member helped.
Rough very punishing most areas off fairway totally wild with numerous trees & shrubs & long wild grass. I get tired rather easily so had buggy thus distances not an issue nor were they for my 42 year old buddie , but if at all unfit get mobile !!
Ignoring surrounding overgrown areas I found fairway & greens very acceptable , elevated Tee's nice to play off but stairways far too steep tall steps etc rather dangerous for the less nimble !!
And then heaven on the back nine where you are presented with great views lovely contoured and presented fairways a real pleasure to play.
I will come back no problem but will require Buggy , Course quite , Satnav type rangefinder.
Welcome bar cafe etc lovely and reasonable , staff great.
This has great potential with intelligent development and a Big wallet , being well situated in superb a setting , I wish them good luck.
Pete ?

Played today in our society and greens running fast and true which surprised us all with the amount of rain recently. We booked three more dates through the winter as all found the course testing but enjoyable.

Playing different courses around the northwest but find I keep coming back to this one as it challenges me the most. Some wet areas but on the whole draining very well compared to others.
Great driving range too.

I have just returned to this wonderful game after a serious illness and long time away from it. very good long course and not over priced. In my opinion will only get better as it is very young and has yet to mature more so on the front nine. The water on the course is also an excellent addition although i would like to see more. The course is well looked after and the greens are superb. The only real downsides are the par 3's seem a bit dull and the score card does not give you a map of the course so that means playing blind which can become a bit of a chore and very frustrating, this needs to be addressed. The staff seemed very friendly and they have a superb cafe were you can have some decent food and the shop was well stocked with everything anyone could want staff being very accommodating all in all i will definitely be going back to this course probably one of the best i have played

I have just joined as a 7 day member because I've been playing this course on full greens and firm fairways while my previous club had been closed on too many occasions.Winter weekend comps well attended and friendly atmosphere. All good.

I have reviewed the course before and have now played it 2 more times since. Once in sunny and dry conditions and once is terrble rainy conditions.

In summary......its a grower. The first time I played here I was unsure about the layout and the professionalism of the set up [rakes for flag sticks]. However, this has all been ironed out - with the introduction of Clarkes at the Golf Centre/Temp Clubhouse.
Fees are more reasonable than the overpriced previous and the course is in better condition with clearer signage and suitable equipment.

Its still a relatively new track and as such there are a lot of under developed rough/tree areas - but this doesnt detract from the round. The course is a good mix between length and thoughtful shorter holes and considering the poor weather we have had [and I experienced on the day] the course was very well drained with quick greens and no plugging of balls.

This was designed to be a championship course and the foundations are there. When the new club house eventually opens and the course is moved about to suit this....this is going to be a real gem. Get a round in now whilst its still affordable.

with the addition of 3 new greens (which replaced damaged ones) the course is playing really well, it's a very tough challenge and good fairway shots can be the key, clubhouse is not yet in use but the use of the driving range/cafe and huge pro shop are there
