Great course in fabulous condition and good to see the bunkers well stocked with sand and raked.
Has possibly the best 19th hole in Essex thanks to the range of beer, food and great staff!

Greens are now rock hard. However, main problem is slow play. This is caused by there being no rangers on the course and the fact that the rough and semi rough are way too long and balls that shouldn't be lost are lost and time is wasted searching. They need to sort this out.

Garon Park has 3 loops of 9 holes which have been undergoing a lot of reconstruction over the last couple of years. The course is an inland links so is pretty flat for most of it and on a windy day is quite difficult. Fairways and greens are in pretty good condition with a fair bit of water coming into play. Good driving range and par 3 9 hole course.

We played the Mid-week 2 ball deal for £45 which included two 18 hole green fees, a buggy and two pints in the bar after our game. Fantastic value. The course was in lovely condition and we really enjoyed the day.

Course was in lovely condition and the greens were probably some of the best I have played in the Essex area. The only bad points was I didn't think the holes were marked out very well, and at one point we drove around in a buggy for 5mins trying to find the right tee. Also another small quibble is that I was advised by someone in the pro shop that we wouldn't be caught up in slow play and we wouldn't have anyone in front of us due to the 3 courses, however that was not the case. Overall a very good course with some tricky holes.

For a council run course, this has superb greens not just your standard flat easy approach. Nice facilities. Get the feel of it being a private course... I may be slightly biased in my view as I had a cracking round

Surprise

Played the West and East. For a municipal course it was a surprise. Well laid out, the West is fairly open but water awaits if you are well off line. East was more challenging playing for the first time. Bunkers were not great but the fairways were good as was the first cut, and the greens quite reasonable. We were unlucky to be out behind a ladies society so the pace of play was slow.
