Nice course
Really nice course and surprisingly dry for the time of year, had a great day out whilst visiting from portsmouth and a nice pint in the very smart clubhouse to finish a lovely days golf off. Highly recommend if your in the areaReviewer Rating

Very impressed
Had read reports of boggy conditions, so following sustained wet weather feared the worst. The course was dry , well maintained, greens very good. Some long par 4's , plenty of dog legs, great positioning of course around streams and ponds. We thoroughly enjoyed this course. The club house is superb. Highly recommended(Round played: May 2021 - Score: 95 Handicap: 20.4)

Superb Greens
I really enjoyed Staining Lodge. It was a decent front 9, but the second 9 is the best part of the course.
The greens & bunkers are superb.
It had rained heavily the day before, but the course had taken the water really well, with only a couple of soft places.
It's open enough for the average golfer, but still puts up a decent test, especially in the 2 club wind we played in.
The guy in the shop & other golfers were all really helpful & polite.
Overall a very pleasant round of golf

Pleasant surprise
I last played here 18 months ago and although it was enjoyable there were a few issues with some work in progress, especially over the homeward leg, greens a bit messy but wow......Having come back to give it another go I was really pleased with the condition of the course. Firm well cut fairways and decent greens 1-18
The rough is wee maintained and as a result the course is that little bit more forgiving. It's an open course anyway but when you do stray you should find your ball, most of the time!!
Well worth a visit and I will be back this summer
