What the club says: Among the big golfing names on the Fylde Coastline, Herons' Reach is growing in reputation and stature to be right at home with its impressive neighbours. Designed by Peter Alliss and Clive Clarke it is in immaculate condition with water hazards on no less than 12 holes, including the awesome 9th with the famous tower as a backdrop. The course has been the stage for several finals of the De Vere PGA North Region Championships and is destined to become a classic so take this opportunity to get there before the crowds.
What Golfshake says: On the Blackpool coast and tough when the wind blows. Not the longest by any means but a typical De Vere track with tough greens and always a tough test.

2 day break
1st day was great pace of play was fine 2nd day was complete opposite! Waited right up to our tee off time and the 4 ball infront were just leaving the tee on the 2nd so had a 5/7 minute wait every hole. Great course though and a good challenge for us.Reviewer Rating

The golf course is challenging enough for medium handicapped players, offers well kept fairways and greens and plays ok in the wet, would recommend a visit , also great for large groups. The venue is comfortable with excellent bar facilities, coffee shop and swimming pool, the restaurant food isn't to standard and requires improvement.

Heron's Reach
I read some trip reviews, and with trepidation booked the course for a 3 ball - 15.00 tee off. The course was in my opinion in a very good condition, especially given the inclement weather we have had for our summer! no muddy shoes, no wet patches..... thoroughly enjoyed the facilities and the course. play again? Course very wet under foot on fairways suggest using a fairway Matt if your lucky enough to find your ballThey shouldn't be charging full price in wet conditions definitely a summer course if to re visit

Abysmal
Absolutely shocking. The course was a mud bath and would not have been open if it wasn't for four societies being booked on.One hole was closed due to being to wet but every other hole was more mud that grass. Fairways clearly hadn't been cut in over a week.
Playing Sunday league on the course would have been tough but golf nigh on impossible.
The club took the money over the course and it will take a long time for this to recover.
Good job it was a very cheap deal we got!

Comfortable stay

Great course
This course is a good test of golf with water featuring in many places. It’s not particularly long so that helps the shorter hitters , but you have to be accurate otherwise trouble awaits in many ways such as water or bunkers. The greens were very good and the practice facilities were also excellent with a driving range to warm up on , a chipping area and a large putting green. There’s a nice outdoor seating area by the 18th as well , for a drink at the end of your round.Reviewer Rating

Enjoyable course
Last game of 2020 (played 30/12) - despite the cold and wet weather the course held up reasonably well (2 holes closed) - tees and greens were in good condition & whilst the course was boggy in places, as most courses in the area were closed, unfair to criticise. Lovely Course Would Recomend
We stayed here for the weekend and played Friday Saturday and Sunday. When the wind is blowing it makes the course play very hard but on a still day you can score well.(Round played: Sep 2020 - Score: 99 Handicap: 27)

Superb golf break!
Fantastic value golf break, from the pro shop to the night life in Blackpool.Had a brilliant time. The course was in amazing condition considering the recent weather and a handful of cracking holes.
