Great links course, very well kept, greens quite fast and challenging in places. Typical links fairways with large undulations and deep pot bunkers, not for the faint hearted. The wind was gusting to a large degree and you needed to take this into account on every shot.

Long walks between tees but an enjoyable course. Some interesting holes with a risk reward theme. Very enjoyable.

Some of the greens were not in as good a condition as you would expect for this time of year. Good test when the wind blows!

One of the best I have ever played,both courses brilliant even in the rain,found both very long but still easy to enjoy,the area is very open so mind the wind but it's all part of the St Andrews experience,very expensive but it's definitely worth to play both once.Personally I enjoyed the Kittocks than the Torrance but both are fantastic,the 17th on the Kittocks is breathtaking..

Myself and two work colleagues took a day off to sample this course and we were all in agreement that the course looked in great condition considering the cold scottish weather. Was very close to my first hole in one on the par 3 5th but for some crazy reason I two putted.(shock and pressure got to me) Would love to sample the course in far better condition and see if i can sink that elusive hole in one. Highly recommend a trip to Fairmont, THE TORRENCE COURSE

Evil weather meant that we didn't see the best of this course, the little brother of the St Andrews courses. Having said that, it was in wonderful condition and stood up really well to the battering it got from the rain - certainly better than I did! Would love to try it in better weather as I suspect that it's a much better course than it's given credit for.(Round played: Aug 2014 - Score: 88 Handicap: 12.8)
