What the club says: A combination of stunning coastal views, centuries of history and hugely enjoyable golf is what makes Balcomie Links one of Scotland’s most finely polished, golfing gems.
This traditional, classic links course was laid out by the old master himself, Tom Morris, and opened in 1895. Balcomie has the unusual combination of three par fives, six par threes and nine par fours, producing a tough par of 69.
Most Helpful Review
Played Balcomie in a horrendous wind, absolutely great fun. Course in excellent condition for December 30th, greens amazing. A must visit for everyone. Clubhouse very busy, service was excellent, best bacon rolls in the business. If you have not played this course, find a way to get there, soon. - Jan 6 2017
Golf Course Reviews for Crail Golfing Society
Surrounded by the likes of St Andrews and Kingsbarnes, Crail is a little bit different. It's a older, narrower course and gives perhaps a more genuine insight into a true Scottish member's club compared to it's near neighbours. When we played it the haar (fog) moved in reducing visibility to less than 100 yards but that's far from normal. It was still a lovely walk.

A very windy day and some rain. Fairways are generous and it's not a long course. Very tricky greens and in very good condition.

What should have been the highlight of the weekend was ruined because the greens where terrible. I know work has to be done to keep the greens in good condition, but putting in a bunker is not good.

The wind was blowing at 42 KPH, very very tough track in these conditions however fairly short it felt like a 7000 yrd course. Excellent condition and cannot wait to return. Save some energy to walk back up to the club house after the 18th. Staff and service was exceptional, well done guys.
