What the club says: A combination of stunning coastal views, centuries of history and hugely enjoyable golf is what makes Balcomie Links one of Scotland’s most finely polished, golfing gems.
This traditional, classic links course was laid out by the old master himself, Tom Morris, and opened in 1895. Balcomie has the unusual combination of three par fives, six par threes and nine par fours, producing a tough par of 69.

Stunning Links course
The best course I have played to date. Stunning setting, beautiful course and challenging wind. It was a picture postcard and a privilege to play(Round played: Jul 2019 - Score: 101 Handicap: 24.6)

Beautiful setting, great course
More challenging than it first appears, with a couple of spectacular holes over small bays. Friendly welcome and great practice facilities.(Round played: May 2019 - Score: 95 Handicap: 20.2)

Great course, welcoming staff
Very nicely presented courses, great staff, traditional club house with a long heritage. Balcomie is very open but I really enjoyed it and recommend it and Craighead. Playing both in a day was very enjoyable. Gorgeous sea views

Three great courses
What a destination for golf. Three great courses, really enjoyable to play.

Enjoyable

Quirky, testing, fun
Surrounded by the likes of St Andrews and Kingsbarnes, Crail is a little bit different. It's a older, narrower course and gives perhaps a more genuine insight into a true Scottish member's club compared to it's near neighbours. When we played it the haar (fog) moved in reducing visibility to less than 100 yards but that's far from normal. It was still a lovely walk.(Round played: May 2018 - Score: 96 Handicap: 17.4)

(Round played: Nov 2016 - Score: 97 Handicap: 27.6)

(Round played: Sep 2016 - Score: 96 Handicap: 17.9)

A very windy day and some rain. Fairways are generous and it's not a long course. Very tricky greens and in very good condition.
(Round played: Aug 2016 - Score: 77 Handicap: )

What should have been the highlight of the weekend was ruined because the greens where terrible. I know work has to be done to keep the greens in good condition, but putting in a bunker is not good.
