What the club says: St Andrews The Home Of Golf is a golfing Mecca for every golfer and realises the ultimate dream for golfers worldwide. From the iconic Swilcan Bridge on the Old Course to Tom Morris's masterful architecture on the New Course, St Andrews Links has developed over 600 years. The three championship courses; the Old Course, New Course and Jubilee Course run parallel to each other along the famous West Sands of St Andrews. Nestled on the opposite side of the Links are the Eden, Strathtyrum courses and the only nine hole course, the Balgove. A five minute drive from the town is the seventh course, the award winning Castle Course which offers dramatic views over St Andrews from its spectacular cliff top location.

This is an awesome experience which is improved by hiring a caddy as they provide you with information that a strokesaver cannot provide. Only downside was that clubhouse and driving range are a far distance from the first tee - Apr 20 2017

You really can't go wrong at the home of golf can you? During my visit to St Andrews I played the Castle Course and was a bit sceptical as to what to expect with it being a new course. All my worries were gone as I approached the venue, it is truly fantastic. The greens are possibly the best i've ever played on and feature some huge undulations. The fairways were typically tight and what you expect from a links course and the rough was thick. The facilities were fantastic, as were the staff. A definite must visit if you're playing the St Andrews Courses. - Jul 27 2016
Golf Course Reviews for St Andrews The Home Of Golf
Course was in great condition, greens were fantastic. Made to feel very welcome.

Really great layout on the outskirts of St Andrews. A bit trickier than the courses in the town but a fantastic course with some really hard to read greens. A must play if you are in the area.

Great views, great condition, nice friendly staff, great course lay out, great facilitys. The only thing that spoils this course is the rediculas over undulating greens, the tenth hole is quite an easy 4 putt. There are some greens you can hit a good shot into then the ball runs away from the hole.
This is an old municipal course, probably nobody has heard of it. Played it in perfect conditions the day before The Open, burnt out fairways, greens had been watered so were slower than the fairways! Now my 3rd time playing and I will be back.

I'm not sure I have the words to describe how amazing this place is. The weather was very typically Scottish but, for me, it just added to the experience. It's definitely one massive tick on my bucket list. The best golfing experience I've ever had.
I would highly recommend getting a caddy, I'm certain he saved me 10 shots and was invaluable as well as super friendly.
The Jubilee Course provides a decent examination of links golf skills with undulating greens, run off areas and tight fairway lies. This is a very playable course but make sure you bring your short game if you want to score well as the green complexes are very tricky.
The home stretch is very enjoyable as you play back in towards the Auld Grey Toun.
A very difficult but enjoyable course. All you can see as you drive through the dunes to the clubhouse are dunes, dunes and more dunes, with not a fairway or green in site, however all of the holes open out in the landing areas to give handicap players a fair but demanding test.
You’ll need your complimentary course planner to plot your way around here but don’t be put off, this is a superb championship course with great views over the sea and, from certain holes, St Andrews itself. Tremendous.
The gentlest test of the 5 courses I have played at St Andrews, but enjoyable nevertheless. The terrain is flatter than the other courses and therefore the greens and green complexes aren’t as tricky, which came as a relief to me after a 2 rounds on the Castle Course the day before.
The New Course is a great way to start off or round off a golf break on the links and the opening and closing holes provide great views of the Old Course Hotel. If playing on a Sunday, try to play early in the morning as, when we visited, there were sometimes 3 groups waiting on the opening holes whereas we sailed around from our 7.52am start.
St Andrews get it right in every aspect. Not only are the courses in fantastic condition, off course everyone makes you feel so welcome it becomes a truly special experience. Played Jubilee (arguably the tightest and toughest course) and Old. The whole Old Course experience is incredible but they manage it so well. Pace of play is good, but you still have time to enjoy it and take in the history of what's happened before you. Highly recommended!
Even after being snowbound a few days earlier the course was in great condition, staff were very friendly and the views from the course second to none
