Nice course, more forgiving than Hotchkin. Course was in great shape, and greens were fast. Not quite as nice as Hotchin in terms of playing experience, but still beautiful.

Beautiful course, with most holes surrounded by trees. Greens needed to be cut and were slow, but fairways were in top notch shape. Very challenging course with big penalties for missing the fairway and bunkers that are underground. Fun to play and love the individual buggies

Whilst generally regarded as merely the lesser of the two Woodhall Spa courses, the Bracken is a really solid course all in its own right. After playing the Hotchkin in the morning this felt like a breath of fresh air with wide open fairways and shallow bunkers. But even as the 'lesser' course it still over 6,000 yards from the yellows and with plenty of trees and water hazards its good test of golf.

The quality is a step down from the Hotckin in terms of fairway turf and drainage and of course the visuals but it is in the greens where this course really shines and thats from someone who played them badly! The greens are larger than the Hotckin but they are generally heavily undulating and add another dimenson entirely.

I had a day ticket so didn't pay a direct green fee for the Bracken but certainly as a % of the overall cost it represents very good value. Whilst the all round facilities are very good the clubhouse and buildings are bit disappointing and after 36 holes felt quite let down by the poor showers!

Otherwise I just wish it was a bit closer to a mainline station as its about 3.5 hours from Woodhall to London including an expensive taxi ride from Lincoln. Use Simon Taylor Private Hire who will get you safely and swiftly for a lot less than a Cab from the station.

The Bracken is a good complement to the Hotchkin. More forgiving off the tee with wide and shallow bunkers (rather than deep and nasty!). However the greens are all undulating and not easy to read. Water is a feature on a number of holes making this an American style parkland type course.

A very good course with full facilities. I played with a Member so green fees were very reasonable. A tight links style course, with very deep bunkers and tough heather. But very few "blind shots" and fair for straight hitters and the odd wayward one as not a lot of rough under the large trees.
Food and clubhouse is very good.
I will go again soon to try and hit my handicap on the course!

Some of the pathways a bit boggy due to the weather, but the course in excellent shape and the greens superb, as challenging as always

What a course!

Fantastic course set in three countryside of Lincolnshire. Wonderful practice facilities and a proper old school feel to the clubhouse and bar. I will definitely return
