A really great golf course, wonderful condition. You need to be long and straight off the tee, otherwise there are massive deep bunkers and lots of heather waiting for you! The range, shop and bar are all top notch. Its a bit more expensive than some, and Woodhall Spa is in the middle of nowhere, but well worth the trip. We will be back.

Hotchkin - Fabulous course

It is a fabulous course. We did a 4 ball end of Sept and took advantage of a twilight at 3pm and for £65 each managed to complete by 7pm nightfall - just. It was magnificent! Some of the bunkers were the scariest I've ever seen. I had to pick up out of 2 of them and take a blob! But they do look amazing. Some wonderful holes. Beautiful heather and gorse - really remind me of Formby at times and also NorthHants in places. Can't wait to return! They do a society rate (8 golfers minimum) of £85 including bangers and mash and the Lincolnshire sausages in the clubhouse are amazing!!

Driving range is top quality too!

2.5 hours from the midlands if you go A46, A17 bypassing Newark - still just shorter than North Devon - just!

Will go back and stay and try Bracken too - fairways looked absolutey lush!

I organised all my trip through the fantastic Brian Kettleborough

Superb condition - great society course

The Bracken is an open and inviting parkland course, not without it's challenges but much more forgiving of mid and higher handicap golfers than the adjacent Hotchkin Course.

Absolutely stunning course and in perfect condition. The scenery around some of the holes was amazing. Some really testing Par4's and very picturesque par3's. Greens very fast and true and the bunkers extremely punishing. One of our group went in a bunker on 12 holes! and managed to get out of 11 at the first attempt.
This is one of the best courses, if not the best, I have ever played. It is truly amazing, It is also a very beautiful course, you'll love it. Clubhouse a bit of a letdown considering the excellent practice facilities at the club.

Stunning course, played in a monsoon so course was very wet. Brilliant course, very enjoyable. Clubhouse wasn't the best but the practice facilities the best I have ever seen.

The course was in excellent condition for October. There were some long carries before you made it to the fairways on some of the tees, and this was just off the yellows, Looking back to the championship tees makes you realize how good the professionals are. I found a few bunkers from off the tees which were deadly. Some of the bunkers were so deep you were lucky if you could see the top of the flag. The greens were true and fair and the ball rolled out well. Overall it was a great test of golf. The staff in the pro shop were very welcoming and the clubhouse facilities were second to none, I would highly recommend a visit, It deserves to be in the top 50.

Just been back to Woodhall Spa nad played both courses but will just rank the Hotchkin. This deserves its very high ranking it is a fantastic course but very challenging with very long carries from the whites. Considering its quality this is rela value for money.

A great course

We played the Bracken Course earlier this week and can honestly say it?s a challenge. There are no easy holes, there are no easy greens but the whole course is fair for handicappers of all abilities. The traps are there, the bunkers are a challenge and there?s many of them.

Having said all of that Bracken is as good as a course I?ve played.

Nice course to play as opposed to Hotchin. Last few holes don't live up to expectations, particularly the last its just an ordinary hole you would find on most good courses. Is it worth the money, ? try for yourself and see!

Fabulous course and facilities

Played the Hotchkin course, Which was in excellent condition. Great layout and good challenge to avoid the many bunkers strategically placed around the course.
Practice facilities and club house extremely good, Looking forward to returning.
