What the club says: This picturesque 18 hole course offers a challenge to any golfer, with plenty of water hazards that will either leave you in self appreciation when landing on the green or cursing your words for the test of skill each hole presents. The course is set in the heart of the countryside and has plenty of natural wildlife, which would make any nature enthusiast want to learn the craft of the perfect golf swing. It boasts tree lined fairways which contribute to making this course one of the most difficult and green in the country.

Not impressed
Course in need of considerable attention, this must have been a lovely course at some time.Fairways full of cut grass which "hides" golf ball
Greens patchy and full of moss
Lack of direction signs to next hole etc

Shocker!!
OMG!!! Avoid at all costs a shocking course, could be really nice but lack of upkeep make it like playing on a field that's not even fit for purpose. Greens what greens I've seen better fairways . A real shame. A thoughtful design but let down by th condition.

course bad condition
played here a few times but the last time i played with 3 other friends and the course was in a poor state, the greens are bare of grass in the majority of them and need water and feeding the fairways are not that good either, all in all the the course needs a lot of TLC and nurturing. Also booked and paid for in advance a bacon sandwich and a cuppa followed by a roast beef dinner after the golf only to be told after we finished our round by the owner that he had sold all the beef so he had defrosted 4 pieces of fish so we could have fish and chips, not happy. there was also a party of about 12 -15 lads on the course and after we finished our dinner 6 of them went back on the 1st tee and running to try and hit the ball just like Happy Gilmore only they were missing and taking chunks out of the turf there, the owner just looked and made the the comment who is that and then said oh its only them and did nothing . not good in my opinion. £15 a round on sundays think i will give it a miss from now on and dont advise anyone else to play will pay more on to play rather than Horncastle Golf

Could be a nice course but desparate for a bit of TLC. We like it but
We have been a good few times but is not getting the attention it needs, will be putting people off going in current state!(Round played: May 2017 - Score: 108 Handicap: 25.4)

Not a bad golf course but could do with spending a little time and care on the greens as they are a little scabby, Also a few direction signs guiding you to the next tee would be hand but all in all not too bad. Friendly staff and a nice drink afterwards.

Has some good holes that make you play straight. Needs work on greens as they were not cut and uneven. Greens are very small. Only 1 trolley to hire.
