Played here in a recent golf society. The greens were uneven and slow,in fact the worst in terms of condition that I have played on all year. Rather expensive for what was offered. The evening meal main course was extremely disappointing, chicken pie with a bought in puff pastry top-can no one make fersh pastry anymore?- With a filling that I can only describe as awful. Not a golf course that I would recommend.

Played at the course last week. The layout of the course is great but the condition was shocking. The greens were slow and bumpy and the holes were very poorly cut. Then the service in the clubhouse was just as poor, it seemed the staff members were more interested in their phones than actually serving customers. I would not recomend this course for the price charged!

Great location with amazing views over the Thames valley but I didn't enjoy the course, there were far too many blind shots, so buying a course planner or printing the one on there web site is must for a first time visitor, I did neither and found it very difficult. Greens I'm told are usually very good but had recently been hollow tinned so were not great, Rough was very very thick very lush grass it was a miracle I only lost 1 ball! Also I'm usually ok around the greens with a wedge but struggled a few times here where green side rough was in my opinion poorly maintained, allowed to grow too long then it's flattened down by wind or feet, add this to the thick lush type of grass and you have a lie from hell if you have short sided yourself, I would expect a lie like this way off line but just a few feet off the green I've never experienced this before. Finish on a positive some of the holes are good fun some interesting raised greens with some nice slopes, I didn't go in any but the bunkers look very well maintained.

Great course - well kept and fun to play. Round was very long with delays on every hole (1-18).

Gem of a course
Hard to find better views in Berkshire looking down onto the Thames and the course doesn't disappoint either. Tremendous value on a weekend afternoon, especially.Reviewer Rating

A favourite course - worth a visit
Course in very good condition, thankfully long grass off the fairways been cut so no lost balls! Greens in good condition, a coule of bunkers could do with more sand in them. Staff excellent, food very good. Well worth a visitReviewer Rating

Winter Hill
Used to be owned by John Lewis but now in the hands of Get Golfing. The course remains in great condition. The greens were a little slow and needed a cut but were true and a real challenge.Great reception from the staff who were extremely friendly and helpful.
The course is fun to play and a challenge. Accuracy will get you a good score.
