What the club says: The Lambourne Golf Club provides one of the region's best golfing challenges. The par 72 course measures 6798 yards from the back tees and has 3 other sets of tees to suit all abilities. Although a strong challenge for the low handicap golfer (seven of the par 4 holes are over 400 yards), the course is also very enjoyable for all players. It is maintained with the highest consideration for environmental issues.

Constructed on gravel, so not blighted with drainage problems, The Lambourne Club has the added bonus of its own two million gallon lake and bore hole. These irrigate not only the tees and greens but the fairways too, with the result that the course loses very few playing days each year.

A long and beautiful parkland course in Buckinghamshire that has been upgraded with new tees, bunkers and greens. A proper golf test.

First time back since September. Course has coped well with winter. Greens sanded & breaks very gently. Fairways were good but one of our group plugged his ball at least 3 times away from the fairways as quite soft.
Rebellion beer was a good after round quaff but food long stopped. Driving range temp out of commission.

Course Superb

Ideal Autumnal conditions. Bright sunshine & little wind just about ideal. The fairways & greens were in excellent condition & cannot wait to return. The practice facilities are superb & staff top end hospitable. Choice of real ales. Lunch was excellent for the CCC golf day.

Enjoying this course more oin each occasion. Plays even longer when wet but broad wide fairways always keeps you in with a chance. Greens were very good. 2 holes out of commission for work.

American style course. Wide fairways, well bunkered & challenging greens (which is the courses main defence) that are sometimes infuriating e.g. unseen deviations directly before the cup hence many 3 putts when left with a 2-3 footer for par. Overall course in excellent condition for time of year. Good fairways, bunkers and greens.

A number of holes are relatively bland interspersed with some real gems. Hole 3 offers a challenging tee shot to a small landing area - driver off tee is a risk. Hole 4 approach is over water to a small contoured green, great risk reward hole if you want to take it on. Hole 7 is a scenic par 3 over a large lake, big slope in front - take plenty of club. The 9th is driveable but guarded by two large bunkers - depending on pin placement this could be the best strategy. The 10th is a great hole. Small fairway, lake in range for driver. Large bunker to get over. If you play short of bunker you have a long approach into the (elevated) smallest green on the course which is also behind the lake. If you bail out to the right to safeguard from lake the green slopes severely away from you for your chip - very challenging hole & my personal favourite. Hole 13 is a beauty of a par 3, pin placement is key here. If close to front you are in danger of going into the lake. Heavily contoured green. The 16th is penal off tee, placement key to leave a second shot into the green. If you are a big hitter, go over the corner. My personal favourites, holes 3, 4, 10 & 13 with 10 being the standout hole that requires serious thought.

Clubhouse is lovely, staff & members friendly.

Not played course for some time playing long due to breeze and softness of fairways so pretty challenging for all golfers!

Played as an organised society day via a member of the club. It's a really nice course, but lots of work going on that is going to result in an even better final layout. Unfortunately the work meant two holes were out of play on the day which was a little disappointing. Overall though the course is worth a return visit on a county card rate.

Nice course - lots of work right now but will be really nice by the su

Lots of work being done to bunkers so the big diggers are out on the 18th and the 6th so currently those holes are closed - but you can see what amazing bunkers with such steep sides they will be. Some bice views as you walk down the 3rd fairway back to the clubhouse. Not much water but the water adds wonderful features to some holes like the par 3 8th is a real beauty. £70 for a golf society was too steep for the condition of the course but will be worth the price in the summer! Very nice club house the bar staff a bit morose!
