Challenge Day

We have just had our first challenge day at WG&BGC today Kingsdown Vs Etchinghill on mutual ground. The course was in very good order 1 temp hole but advised before we went out.
I must say the improvements on the course since lockdown has been fantastic. We had a superb breakfast before playing and the golf professional was very helpful in organising our day.
The catering staff were excellent with good service.
We certainly will plan again to hold our event at this course in the future
Make no mistake this is a challenging course and when work is completed it will be even harder.

Lovely little course

Don't be fooled about the shortness of this course - very well kept and challenging - control is key

Enjoyable course, not long but on a windy day, plenty of hazards and some challenging rough it is still a decent coastal round. Good feel about the place, friendly pro in the club shop.

Driven past this club many times and finally got a chance to play what is a short par 64 course which is quite quirky in terms of its set up. We really enjoyed it. Well kept and forgiving but with some tight out of bounds close to housing and roads. Our only problem was that there was no course map apart from by the club house and as the course is split into 3 segments with a road walk between them it is easy to get disorientated playing it for the first time. However, everyone seemed very friendly and welcoming and we would play it again if/when we get the chance.

short 18 holes course, very open but tricky in the wind due to its exposed position on the north Kent coast. Great views!

Short course with tricky small greens and rough, in fair condition with some dodgy patches. An ideal place for a quick evening round.

lovely short couse with some nice views. Greens are excellent as is the drainage making it an all year round favourite. Clubhouse and facilities have recently been improved and the pro very helpful. short but sweet with easy walking making it ideal for an evening round. Good value after 1600 hrs. Many of the older members can be very slow and reluctant to let anyone through so be warned.

Short course requires accuracy!

Although not the longest course, with a par of 64 and no par 5's, it is fairly compact and many of the holes require accurate tee shots to get to green in regulation. Being on the coast it is susceptible to winds which ass to the challenge.

The course was in great condition - firm fairways and greens despite a very wet winter.

A decent little halfway house for a drink and snack at the 13th hole (though I didn't try anything).

pleasure to play

The course is short in distance but has tight fairways and small greens. The standard of the course is superb and the green keeper has made man subtle changes and improvement to make the course a great challenge. The drainage makes it playable al year round and always keeps its good condition. The course is extremely welcoming and all the staff are very friendly.

Great value

Old fashioned, straightforward and well maintained. It's not got thrills and spills and if you're playing well you should beat your handicap readily. However it's a very enjoyable short round with enough to think about to keep you engaged. There is a little field of par 3s at 15, 16, 17 thwt determine just howwellnyoubare going to score.
