Played a round at 1500 on a Saturday afternoon in April - very disappointed with our experience. What could, and should be a fantastic course was let down by several key failings;

1) The pro-shop staff were wide asleep, unhelpful and very s-l-o-w

2) Arriving on the 1st tee five minutes before our tee time we had to wait for two fourballs to tee off, with other groups collecting behind us - there appeared to be no respect for tee times at all

3) The round itself was painfully slow with four-balls clogging up every hole and making no attempt to call groups through. It took us 5 hours to get round, with the majority of the time spent twiddling out thumbs on the tees/fairways

4) There appeared to be an unusually high concentration of muppets out on the course today with people driving dangerously close to us on many occasions.

5) Greens very poor - incredibly slow and bobbly. Have played over ten rounds this year on a variety of courses and really not impressed by these at all.

6) Tee boxes full of divots, uneven and longer than the 1st cut

Positives;

- Good layout with nice use of mounding, raised greens and water features. Even the shorter par fours were cleverly bunkered and more than just a drive an pitch hole.
- Nice blind tee shots on occasion
- Consistent bunker quality
- Good food in the bar and the Masters on the large flat screen

In conclusion I would come back to play this course, but only very early in the morning and only if the greens improve. Avoid like the plague on summer weekends / weekday aftertnoons!

Overall West Midlands is a nice course with a good layout but the greens could be better.
Not a lot of stock in the golf shop.

Poor greens at the moment

The one thing with the course is that singles and pairs may be paired up with other golfers and this means that a lot off four balls are on the course with no chance of being called through although a challenging course at a lovely location so would still play the course and recommend

Play too slow

Good course and a challenge for all levels. Greens sanded and a little bumpy. Glorious sunny day but play far too slow. Let through on holes 3 and 6 but then had to wait at least five minutes on every tee, People in front gave up after 12 holes. Problem seemed to be two slow 3 balls who were not letting anybody through so caused a back up. Accepted this and managed to relax a for the final few holes.

Not a bad course

Not a bad course to play, quite challenging with a fair share of long holes including the par 6 666yds. Unfortunately the course has declined since i last played here with the tee boxes and more importantly the greens in need of some attention. Still enjoyable to play though.

Disappointed

I have played this course regularly but unfortunately the fairways are a big disappointment. Holding water and poor quality of grass and rutted.
The greens are generally good. Possibly with time the course will mature and this problem will disappear.

Post lockdown

Good to be back playing again
The course was in reasonable condition but bare in patches on the fairways and the greens were uneven. We were a little surprised given it had not been played for 3 months.

Better than expected

Better than I had expected, good value. The par 6 is a gimmick. The 18th too short from yellow tees.
