What the club says: North Warwickshire Golf Club, established in 1894, is an easy walking but challenging heath land course that will delight as much as it will deceive. Located just outside Meriden, in the centre of England, with easy access from Coventry and Birmingham. Convenient for visitors to the NEC who may like a round before visiting an exhibition or show. The course is well kept and the greens are in good condition all year round. Rightly renowned for its excellent drainage, the course remains open when most other courses are closed due to inclement weather. The long par fours and fives will test all your golfing skills and require fortitude and patience in order to score well.

The course was running well and the green were fantastic. Only thing I found was on a couple of holes we didn't know which tee to use but as we played the 18 it didn't matter but they could be made clearer.

Fantastic layout

Absolutely fantastic layout of only 9 holes with two tees to give 18 holes, plays like every hole is the first time you play it in the round. Welcoming members and loved the course.

Superb 9 hole 18 tee set up. Reasonably tight, giving any level of a golfer a good examination of their overall game. The greens and course are renowned for being in very good condition all year round. The course has excellent drainage due to being located on a sand and gravel site, so if your course is closed due to water logging etc you can guarantee North Warwickshire won t be!. Friendly membership with a unique honesty bar which seems to work. Members will happily serve guests and visitors. I have been a member here for 40 years, built up lasting friendships and have enjoyed watching the course mature. If you haven’t tried here you really should. You will be back again and again. Par 71,6200+yards.

Excellent course

Havent played this course in over 10yrs. Excellent condition when played last week. Fairways in great nick and greens true and a good pace. A hidden gem that it is well worth playing if you are passing. Not long, but tight in places, well manicured and the condition of the course is a real credit to the green staff.

Invitation event 2nd time on the course

19th Sept 2020 - Course was impeccable with double cut greens and club championship pins I was told, the course drains really well in the winter and you would think it would suffer in the summer but I hardly had a bad lie in the fairway all day. the greens looks slick and rolled so well, best I've played for a while TBH. lovely little 120yrd practice area just enough to get warm and a small putting green. if you need a range us Stonebridge over the road very convenient. all the members seemed welcoming and a proper golfers club. I really don't care about fancy club houses as it's golf we are there to play not spend my life wasting in the bar being a none drinker. so if it's golf you need look past this and go play.

A decent 9 hole course with 18 tee boxes which provide some variety but not much. Relatively flat and forgiving layout. Some areas under repair and a lot of leaves/debris as well as lots of divots. At ?25 for guests it doesn't offer great value for money when compared to other nearby courses but offers an enjoyable round.

Good place to play

Played here in Dec 2019 when very wet and own course closed. The drainage here meant that the course was in great condition which was amazing with regard to all the recent rain. The fairways and greens were in excellent condition and the tee boxes, although a bit tired, were fine. It is a 9 hole course with 18 tee boxes and some of the holes were totally different due to the tee setting. The pro was great and gave helpful advice. Well worth a visit.

Very nice greens, poor test of golf

Greens are absolutely lovely. Price to play here is way to much without a doubt the easiest golf course I've ever played could knock it round under par with my eyes closed. Very dull and boring walking round would like to know why the tees are not cut either. Members were nice but way to slow 5 hours to play a 9 hole gold course is ridiculous. Won't be going back

simple course, not a great test

played on a trial membership ticket, excellent value for money. membership is cheap. It has a tidy and neat club house with an honesty bar. very intimate feel to membership and inclusion to the group. A tiny club shop. seems an old persons club but i have enjoyed my time there. Will i join? not sure, going to try some of the other courses before deciding. As it is only a 9 hole course my worry is that it can get conjested, however i have not experienced that yet.

Practice round game #2

Having contemplated joining this course I can definitely say it's a very fair test of your handicap, an off day and you will do well to 'Par' the course., never shuts for rain , and always dry under foot, to be a member here would definitely help you improve your game with a golf pro on hand to give lessons should you require them, very decent practice area as well. Definitely worth a visit , in my opinion .

Very friendly club, greens excellent

Quality 9 hole course, with 100yrd practice area and bunkers. £15 on a Sunday morning with the society. Great value.

As said the greens were in great shape and putted lovely. Only downside is the leafs they could do with a massive clear up or at least a hard mow!!

Very dry after the weekends overnight downpour

Nice Cours9 hole course which doubles up twice to give 18 holes. A real treat for societies and the keen golfer. Holes littered with OB hedges and bunkers on fairways. Found the greens a little unforgiving as they were hard and the ball did stop easily. A very accommodating club house that will bend over backwards to make sure customers are happy. I will play again.

North Warwickshire is located about 7 miles from where I live and is a course I visit once a year for one of the top scratch competitions in the county - The Howitt Bowl - which was played yesterday.

As ever, the course was in fantastic condition. It is a relatively short course but that doesn't mean that it is without it's own challenges. It is certainly a tight course which requires straight tee shots and, played from the white tees, there are some very tough holes - the par 3 5th/14th is particularly challenging as is the 7th and 10th. The greens are large and undulating with some potentially very difficult pin positions but the putting surfaces are smooth, fast & true.

The course is built on gravel and the drainage is incredible. If this course is closed in the winter you can guarantee that every course is going to be shut.

The clubhouse is small but very friendly. An honesty bar is in operation which can be a bit of a pain for visitors as you have to find a member to serve you.

I'm amazed that this course isn't rated more highy on here. If I ever left my own club this is the place I would be most likey to join even though there are a number of courses (Coventry Finham, The Warwickshire, Hearsall, West Midlands, Stoneleigh Deer Park & Leamington) which are closer.

For me, this is a definite 'hidden gem' and well worth a visit.

9 hole course with double tees which creates opportunity to play 18 holes from a different angle or approach. Course benefits from excellent drainage allowing the course to be played irrespective of weather. Good facilities and great value on green fees.
