Turned up early with time for a delicious breakfast in a nice clubhouse served by friendly staff( Cost me £9!) The pro in the shop mentioned they were doing some work on the greens so I feared the worst but it wasn't too bad.
As a fat lad, the first nine was a tough hilly walk, but it's all exercise right? Flattened out on the back nine.
There's no denying the beauty of the grounds, it really is so peaceful, with plenty of wildlife to be enjoyed. The course is tough but fair. Drive it reasonably straight and you'll be ok but there are plenty of trees that make putting it on the right part of the fairway imperative. Not overly long. First time I've played there but I'd play it again. Not sure it's worth £40 though.

Greens were worst played in a long time and weren't told when booking it but was told when we arrived (booked on same day)
Expensive round for that time of the day and taking the state of the course wasn't worth playing it so wont again.

I played this course with a friend on Friday 31st March, starting mid morning. The course was in a quite good condition, although the greens need some time and effort on them. We enjoyed our round which was booked through Open Fairways, but we thought the round was quite expensive for the standard of the course. Other courses in the area provide much better value for money.

Greens suffered heavily from disease over the winter and were almost unplayable, pits everywhere. Fairways were in very good condition.
Would play again but not before confirming the quality of the greens.

Poor course layout with many holes crossing each other leading to delays. Greens in absolutely awful condition

Interesting course with a few cross over holes, but very poor greens - heavily sanded with signs of disease

A very challenging course with some very interesting holes. And a view blind holes where some course knowledge would of be good. Be careful of the cross over holes.

Good course hole layouts where cross over could be better and next tee signs would be nice. Tricky course would play again. Don't like the hole where u tee off over a green also very slow
