Superb
VRA is a superb course, always in great condition & a fair test of golf. The greens are superb, fast & true, bunkers good & the rough testing without being extreme.
You always get a great welcome from Ben & the team of pro's.
Look out for the challenging 7th, interesting 12th & the long sweeping 18th.
A must play course if you're in the area.

Outstanding
After a full days rain the day before, the course was in outstanding condition.Easily the best greens I've played on this year.
It's a great layout, with superb views of the Abbey & 'must play' if you're in the area.

Its silly to complain about 2 wet holes in november after 2 solid days of consistently heavy rain. My only ‘complaint’ about this course is maybe the greens could have been designed with a tad more break and undulation. Overall a brilliant course

Utterly Brilliant
What a fantastic place to play golf! Fairways wide open, rough not long enough to hide your ball and slow down a round. Bunkers EVERYWHERE and big bunkers!!!!The greens had been hollow tined the week I played and had healed up nicely and there was only a bit of SAND, take note our greenkeepers, SAND left on them. Perfect roll and FAST! Be careful when putting, read the green first. A few walks between holes. Toilets half way round but you need the code, so get from the Pro before setting out. Watch out for the 8th? with the lake on the left hand side. Play to the ridge on the right otherwise you may catch the steep slope off the left of the green and....lost ball. Top notch course. Give yourself a treat and go and play it. I paid £20 for the round due to it being "maintenance week". BARGIN !

There is genuinely very little (if anything) to criticise. Maybe the bunkers are a bit big but not so much that they punish a good stroke. You will only get caught out by them if a shot falls stray.
A longer practice ground would be nice as would a bigger putting green.
The clubhouse is beautiful.... just google it and see!
A stunning course, especially for its age.

Well worth a visit
Greens in good nick and at a good speed. The course was more than fair and although I didn’t do it justice I enjoyed the corporate day. Well organised with great hosts.Reviewer Rating

played the course in November 2021 wet day but the course was in great condition, greens running true and hard to read too many 3 putts on the card, great back drop to the 18th would not look out of place at the open, pro shop very small not very well stocked, practice facilities, no drive range as such but at the back of the building you can hit some balls off grass irons max, practice green is good, club house is what lets it down, stunning building the abbey and the clubhouse is stuck in the dinkiest room in it such a let down compared to other clubs around but as for the golf loved it, go a pub for a drink and better experience after your round unless its a sunny day then the outside terrace is a mustReviewer Rating
