The green fee is £27 at weekend, but they do have much better mid-week rates. The fairways are in decent condition, the greens are bumpy after the recent hollow tyne work. The layout is interesting with some good strong par 4's and interesting par 3's. The par 5's are rather straight-forward though. The associated facilities could do with some cleaning, tidying and probably redecoration.

Late Night offer for £1! Tee'd off at 6:30, had time to squeeze in 9 and a fair pace. Holes provide a lot of different shapes, curves and hills. Fairways were a bit hit and miss, however, in and around the greens were in nice shape. Greens had just been treated which made it a bit slow, although, all greens must be treated at some point and for £1 you can't complain!

Great course fair ways and greens are brilliant tee boxes and bunkers need working on I really like it. great value very challenging... the only major negative is the booking system they only take online i think it's awful you should be able to book via telephone overall very nice.

Course has memorable holes but greens and tee boxes not in the best shape. Lot of potential but they let too many people out too fast, holes get backed up. If they groom the course better it would prob be the best public course for your money

Club Hse and pro shop is not impressive at all, first hole does not have clear signage, but after that all the following holes are fun to play, good fairway, good green, good scenery. Really value for money. The course is really a gem, much better than some member's golf course.

Poor state

Played 26 April. This course does have great potential BUT currently is in poor condition. There has been some cutting although cut grass is strewn over the fairways so that you often can’t find the ball. The rough is too long and again likely to lose the ball, bunkers compacted. Greens are very poor patchy and mostly moss. No consistent roll, worst state I’ve seen them in last few years by far. It’s not really playable, maybe practice? Shame to see it. Needs some investment. Did not see any ground staff during my visit.Very few people playing, self fulfilling failure.

Worst "course" i've ever seen

This was without doubt the worst kept course I've ever seen or played. Ankle high grass in the fair way. Tired unkept greens. It looked like the groundsmen had the previous month off, and yet the staff still charged us £27 without any forewarning when booking online. It was only when the chap in the American Golf store, stated how he couldn't believe it was open. I want my money back. But the staff have only offered to rebook us in for another time. This is of course no use to me, as I'll never be going back!

Lacking a bit of TLC

Trent Park has a good layout and has been in good condition in the past. This week it was better than the last time I played there - not as bad as some recent reviews. However, the greens need some work and the rough could do with cutting back. The bunkers were terrible - not having rakes is no excuse for players not to smooth their foot prints. However, at ?12 on a Monday for seniors, it's a good challenge.

It’s getting there

Since finding the course extraordinarily muddy in winter, I try to play in summer here only. Unfortunately while the fairways are clear, the adjacent rough is thick with cuttings & much time was spent searching. Luckily the course was quiet. The greens too are better in high summer so a return in July is likely as it offers amazing value when you time your visits.

This course is not fit for play right now. The greens were longer than most fairways (played on a Saturday afternoon). Fairways longer than most roughs, and if you missed the fairway you had no chance of finding a ball. Multiple balls which hit fairway were lost. It attracts beginner golfers which is fine, but pace of play was not existent, sharing of clubs and buggies which slowed everything down. Stopped playing after 4 hours at the 12th hole. Also worth noting it is not recognised by MyEnglandGolf so you can't use a score towards your handicap which sums up the state of it.

No upkeep.

A good course spoilt by lack of upkeep, fairways like rough, rough like St Andrews and tees with grass two inches long. How can you loose a ball in the middle of the fairway? Well we both did on different holes. It used to be a pleasure to play there but it will be a long time before I return.

Very poor condition

The greens were in poor condition, the fairways were like rough, the rough was 6 inches to a foot deep. How can you loose balls in the middle of the fairway? The course is in the worst state I have ever seen it. When we told the gue in the booking office all he said was "oh a lot of people have said that". We won't be going back any time soon.
