Course in great nick at the moment, quick greens and immaculate fairways. Buckers are still too stony for my liking and being a public course there are too many ignorant players who can't be bothered to rake them. Still one of the better public courses around.....

Geoff

Played here today and came off after the fourth hole. Like other reviews, ankle high grass, greens in a shocking state and pathways worn. Unbelievable. There has been no maintenance at all over the winter and it is as if all the ground staff have been on holiday. I cannot understand how this course is open. It’s completely unplayable. I received a credit including buggy hire and as I am local, I will go back but honestly, can’t see how the course is going to be ready this season.

Dereliction Supreme

Like losing every ball you hit, even when drilled down the middle of the fairway? Then look no further. Used to be good, but it's being run into the ground probably to be sold off for housing. £27 to slosh around in a mud pit? Yeah, absolutely had our pants pulled down on this one.

Worst ever

I played this course to encourage my son in laws golf - it has done th opposite ! It is in a terrible state . Every aspect of an enjoyable round of golf has gone literally like any ball that lands in the 1st cut - long grass with dead cuttings left to rot . Greens were awful . I felt like a beginner as my scoring was terrible . Will never return even at £12 .

The worst course I’ve ever played. Should cost £10-£15 like most public courses. There isn’t a fairway, just rough - and I’m not exaggerating. Every single shot will then take 5 minutes to find the ball.
The course price at £27 gives the impression it will be worthwhile, instead it’s dreadful. Avoid.

Rip off driving range

Be careful not to fall fowl of the driving range ball dispensing machine! Despite clicking the correct button, I ended up paying for £6 for 25 balls when wanted to pay £9 for 100 (you have to make sure to change your selection on the card machine too). Apparently because it was my mistake, they would not let me pay £9 for 100 as I originally wanted, so ended up paying £15 for 125. Not a huge amount of money but I have heard from a few friends who have had exact same experience.. basically a cunning plot to get an extra few quid from Trent park!

Great price but bit of a queue (4.5 hour round)

Quite a wait with lots of hackers on the day - Common problem with the course where you can usually encounter very long rounds - But this can be expected with a public course - Good course but just need to be prepared to wait

Very attractively set, quiet rolling parkland, genuinely reminiscent of Hadley Wood in places. Condition ok greens just under 7 on stimp but a damp morning. Several very good holes, 8, 10 and 18 especially, par 3's good range of lengths as well. Friendly chap in shop. Range is super nice.
A lot of redevelopment at the moment which is months from completion. Obliterated the old par 5 first, hope this isn't a trend. No facilities at all. Paths are too rough for trolleys. 5 and 13 need some definition, very wide and short. Many holes have trees and a ditch across the fairway at driving distance, bit of a quirk that many wont be keen on. Whilst its not narrow, there is some seriously heavy fescue and scrub on most holes which cant be a great idea on a public course, not surprised there are so many complaining about slow rounds.
I'll go back after the redevelopment because this place has the potential to be in the top echelon of public courses, and as good as virtually anything in North London. Slightly underrated on here at the moment.

Perfect couse with great rates at twighlight for practicing your golf game and developing. Only been playing 14 months (being a fair weather golfer thats actually playing 10 months) and Trent Park has been a good course to make mistakes on whilst I learn. 85 this round was my best round ever anywhere so i was very pleased. Now to fix that driving slice is my next objective...
