An good relatively flat course suitable for all levels of player. The GST day was a great succes here. A challenge if you got lost in the 'jungle rough' or swallowed up in the water but stay out of trouble and even I managed a few 'pars'. Look forward to playing here again - second time round would probably score more than my 24 points.
Excellent club house & pro shop facillities. Rating 8.5 - would have been 9+ if tee areas less worn or repaired.

Poor condition

Not much good to say I’m afraid. Greens were rich hard and hollow tyned. Need watering. Fairways had massive amounts of flood or dry weather damage - wasn’t sure which. Won’t be rushing back as months of recovery work required.

Course was is in shocking condition. All greens were completely covered in sand making playability an all time low. Should of been made aware of this before paying. Can honestly say I will not play this again!

Greens poor quality, 8 were temporary and they won't hold a ball. Layout poor with out of bounds at the back of 5 holes suggesting go on the side of caution. Dissapointed by the 18 hole course.

Needs more sand

Where to start. Recent hollow tined looks like it’s been done by a child who was born without hands. Clearly there isn’t a proper green keeper as they would need lining up and flogging for the pathetic attempt. Probably 80% of the holes don’t have sand in them. I would recommend that the green keeper at least buy a book on green keeping or watch a few tutorials on the subject.

the bunkers would make you weep. Barely any raked. Some have sand. Some don’t. Some have rakes…some don’t. Those that don’t have sand will usually leave you walking away from the hole with a blob. Clearly the owners aren’t bothered about making an effort to show
Off their course as it has the potential to be a fantastic course.

They seem quite content to let people play in football tops and not strict dress code so this makes you think the owners don’t care whose playing as long as they are making some £££

The layout is challenging. There are some beautiful holes which could almost tempt You to become a member. I’ve played in a society day there and it’s a course that makes you think.

Just needs some one whose passionate about golf to take it over and give it some love

Don’t waste your money playing this course

The course has a good layout, but is in poor condition, many greens have ring disease, the fairways are solid akin to a carpark and the bunkers have many weeds in and are solid with little sand. The tee boxes need care and attention soil boxes might be an idea. For saying it is near a river you would also think they would be able to put water in the ball washers. If I owned this course I would be embarrassed by the state of ot

Six temporary greens in mild October is to say extreme. And the proper greens have been hollowtined and filled with sand. Clubhouse is great same cant say same for course.
Worth the price after two.

Great driving range, shop and bar area. Course needed mowing as semi rough was very long even just off the fairways resulting in spend some time searching for balls. Green very hard which made ball skid off the back to many times, a watering wouldn't go a miss.

Despite two fairly dry days the fairways were like the rough is normally. the rough was therefore very long. Not really good enough.

Our 4 ball played the course for the first time. Having checked out the website we were looking forward to playing it but came off disappointed in both the general condidtion of the course and the layout. The clubhouse and off course facilities were very nicely set out and decorated and the club shop stocked an excellent range. Overall service was efficient and pleasant. However, the course itself, we all felt, was cramped and often confusing and bordering on the potentally dangerous, with some holes playing towards, or alongside each other. The sign posting between holes was poor. We found the tees mostly very good/excellent and greens quite good for early March, with one temp ( 10th ) after heavy rain the day before. The fairways were patchy at best and sometimes poor, even for the time of year. We found the layout of the holes uninspiring although the holes around the turn and at the 17 and 18th stood out. 18th a great par 3 golf hole Some extra touches like seats and ball cleaners etc would have been welcomed. Felt a busy place to play golf, with people often in your eyesight and with noisy trains running near and jets taking off overhead.

You go into the large pro shop and have a very large selection of clubs, bags, balls etc etc, but then the one thing you would like when visiting a course for the 1st time does not exist, a course planner.
The course itself needs a bit of manicuring. You couldnt always see the fairway and rough divide. The greens could do with a fringe. The red and yellow stakes become visible from about 50 yds by which time you are reaching into your bag for your ball retriever.
The clubhouse has great food at a great price, and the beer is also well priced. The service you get in the clubhouse is very good.
I would be more happy paying about £12.00 for the round rather than the £17.50 being charged. There are a lot better courses out there for this price.
