Best value course around
£30 for weekday morning. Round in 3 hours (in buggy). No hold ups. Greens in fantastic condition but lightning fast. Fairways well kept and challenging hole routings around water.Superb as always.

Short, boring, cramped and over oriced
The course is in reasonable condition, the greens have 18 different speeds. There were a few decent holes but none worth remembering, players are all over the place, when you are teeing off, and balls are flying left right and centre, it’s no fun. The claims must be substantial here. Teeing off with a green 10 meters to your left or right is bordering stupidity. To be fair, it feels like 18 holes have been crammed into a 9 hole. I certainly wouldn’t come again. The weekend cost of £37.50 is way too much. Definitely a £20 a round golf course.Reviewer Rating

Tight
This is a nine hole course played twice to make 18. Tight fairways with many trees. The second par 5 is particularly tough needing two good shots then a shot to the green over water.Fiarways are in good condition. However, the greens need to be in better condition.

Very disappointed to be charged full green fees this winter with so many temp greens, tee,s half way down the fairways, one par four was only 80Yards long, temp tee and temp green. Whilst I appreciate its difficult for the green keepers I feel that the management should not be so greedy and compensate for the fact of these conditions. Very poor management and lack of foresight. I wonder how many other groups won't return because of this, I know we won't. On a plus side the bar staff where very friendly.Reviewer Rating

Needs an Overhaul
Played with two friends who suggested we try this day planned for 18 and something to eat and drink afterwards. The course has great potential but looks really shabby. Greens had been hollow toned bit no notice of this and this made putting in the end a joke.If they have had a company in to do this then they should get their money back. The tee boxes are awful full of homes and Un- level, overall appearance of the course looks wild an overgrown. When we came in we mentioned the hollow timing to the lady behind the desk and she was not bothered . We went into the bar area, not many people in b it this is possibly down to the lack of food options. In the end we turned round and went to the pub round the corner called the Trent Lock n ear the river - food was really good thereReviewer Rating

They need a Greenkeeper badly
Played this course yesterday, 16/4/22 with some friends as its a good meeting point for us.For layout, length, difficulty, interest, its got pretty much everything, and could be a really nice course.
Tee boxes were ok, nothing to write home about or knock, fairways/rough/bunkers all seemed pretty decent tbf.
But then the Greens.... oh my days. utterly pointless trying to putt on them. Overbaked, brown/soil patches in places where there is no hint of grass, clearly been hollowtined recently but not done correctly as sporadic holes on them.... just an embarrassment tbf
It has the potential, it really does, but the greens were that bad its just not worth playing in my opinion. Unless you just want to mess around putting and work on the rest of your game??

A lovely course with a particularly challenging back 9!
The course played true - with fast greens - and was in excellent condition. There are challenging holes, particularly where the water comes into play on the back 9, where you have to carefully plot your way round the courseReviewer Rating

Needs more sand
Where to start. Recent hollow tined looks like it’s been done by a child who was born without hands. Clearly there isn’t a proper green keeper as they would need lining up and flogging for the pathetic attempt. Probably 80% of the holes don’t have sand in them. I would recommend that the green keeper at least buy a book on green keeping or watch a few tutorials on the subject.the bunkers would make you weep. Barely any raked. Some have sand. Some don’t. Some have rakes…some don’t. Those that don’t have sand will usually leave you walking away from the hole with a blob. Clearly the owners aren’t bothered about making an effort to show
Off their course as it has the potential to be a fantastic course.
They seem quite content to let people play in football tops and not strict dress code so this makes you think the owners don’t care whose playing as long as they are making some £££
The layout is challenging. There are some beautiful holes which could almost tempt You to become a member. I’ve played in a society day there and it’s a course that makes you think.
Just needs some one whose passionate about golf to take it over and give it some love

Don’t waste your money playing this course
The course has a good layout, but is in poor condition, many greens have ring disease, the fairways are solid akin to a carpark and the bunkers have many weeds in and are solid with little sand. The tee boxes need care and attention soil boxes might be an idea. For saying it is near a river you would also think they would be able to put water in the ball washers. If I owned this course I would be embarrassed by the state of otReviewer Rating

Course in very good condition, a very pleasant way to dust off the winter cobwebs. Still excellent value for money, if you're after a 9 hole round in under two hours. Green in good condition but some tee areas could do with a little TLC. Expect COVID has reduced maintenance deployed on course.Reviewer Rating
