VERY GOOD VALUE
Played this course for the first time in September 2022 in lovely sunshine. Paid £19 which was very good value. For a Municipal the Greens were very well kept. The course is parkland with wide fairways. For the first time visitor it is fairly clear how to find your way around. Some of the tee boxes were a bit lumpy and not as well maintained as the greens. The course is a mixture of flat holes and some moderately hilly holes but for the older player I would say it is just about playable even for a player like me who has some mobility issues.
I would return to Towneley, based on price and the good greens. On the whole a good value for money experience.

Would definitely play here again. Thinking of bringing my golf society.
Great value for money. I’ve played many more expensive courses which were no way near as good as this.

Nice track.
Nice course in great condition. Greens were terrific, credit to the greenstaff.Course has a brook running through it which challenges you to risk/reward. Some holes are relatively short par fours however narrow entry to greens and bunkers await wayward shots.
Great three course meal afterwards, stewardess was very friendly made sure we all ate well.

I pay green fees at Townley so I know the course really well. If you want to play a course where you can open up your shoulders with the driver this is it, wide fairways on most of the holes will leave big hitters with a pitch to the green. There is lovely scenery from all areas of the course, especially the view of Pendle Hill from the 14th.
