A nice Fenland course that held up well to grim weather (rain, wind, etc). Plenty of water hazards, nice fairways, and essentially flat. Not exactly picturesque but its all fine.

Course is relativley easy in comparison to others in the area - good for big straight hitters. It is obvious that this is not the members course as the greens do leave a lot to be desired in places.

The best thing about our round was the staff in the clubhouse, a credit to the club. The £27.50 for 12 o clock on Saturday in January was twice what it was worth. I would have expected a far better standard of fairways and greens for this price even in the summer. A good course layout let down by poor fairways and a inflated green fee.

Two 18 hole courses and and average par 3.

The fen course is (as you'd expect) exceptionally flat, with a few poorly maintained bunkers there to give you an added challenge.

Greens are of an average standard but work is being done to improve all aspects.

Can be very hard work on a windy day! I've not played the lakes course.

Exceptional value for money at all times.

Thorney Lakes

I played in a 2 ball on the 5th April. The staff in the Pro shop was friendly & helpful. The course itself is easy walking as it is flat. Well laid out greens & easy to play, although because of the recent inclement weather was very wet in places. The pace of play was excellent there was no one behind trying to rush us which makes a nice change from some other clubs in the area. My playing partner & i have decided to play the course again in the summer when it has dried out.

considering the heatwave the fairways were quite green. The actual greens were a bit slow , but I put that down to the green staff cutting them a fraction higher because of the heat. Wide fairways , longish par 3's . Bunkers crunchy.

Course in excellent condition

The wet weather this summer has stopped the course drying out and fairways and greens are in excellent condition. Good value for money.

The perfect local golf club

This is my local golf course which I regularly play at least once a fortnight. The pro shop is very good all round, but specifically they usually have a good range of second hand clubs which is worth checking everytime as there are some bargains. The par 3 course and driving range is also very useful and they have both been upgraded recently so are much better to use.

Nice course with some interesting holes

Often play at Thorney as it is my local course and not too expensive although don't get the deals like you used to. Some interesting holes and the greens were in very good condition today. Easy walking course as is flat and got round in 2 and a half hours teeing off around 1.15pm. Usually quiet in the afternoons.
