Testing Greens
Course in fair condition given time of year and weather. greens testing in places. Bit bare around the greens making chipping more difficult.(Round played: Mar 2018 - Score: 100 Handicap: 22.6)

Good course in great condition
Good course. Forgiving enough for high handicaps but with some good tests for the lower handicaps as well. Lovely condition(Round played: Sep 2017 - Score: 91 Handicap: 23)

Money is what matters
Played the PGA National as part golf weekend tour based in Litchfield - I can appreciate the challenge of the course with good spaces betw tees and the next green. Playing off 17 hcp scored 31 pts with 2 blobs.Frustrating by slow play of golfers with money to access the £80 challenge but without the golfing talent required.
Some lovely water carry challenges.
Greens slick and contoured to create plenty of 3 putt scores.
I will be happy to have ticked it off my golf career but won't be rushing back, I prefer the GC to be welcoming and engaging not just taking money.
£22 for 4 pints ?
On the course we had the food cart show up once with only 1 sandwich available at the 6th tee and the request for a return ignored.
Passing through the complex store and in the bar area several times not greeted once so think it was about a focus on shoppers not the golf experience welcome I have received at Litchfield Golf n Country Club and Walmley GC. Will return to the other courses ahead of Belfry.

This was a big disappointment for me. It's simply not in the same league as other courses which have hosted big events like the Ryder Cup (e.g. the K club, 2010 etc). The greens were really beaten up. The club house only stocked the most expensive balls and the course was absolutely rammed. Our round took well over 5 hours, the starter told us we were lucky as it had speeded up! Fortunately I got a discounted tee time of 69 vs 160 full price, I'd be seriously p***ed off if I'd paid full price, frankly it wasn't worth the discounted rate. Living off former glory as a money making machine in my view.

Outstanding greens. As a 3rd course at this top venues, not one to be sniffed at. Would play again.

Played this in winter and on a very wet day, perhaps shouldn't of been open but happy they allowed us to play. The course is obviously the lesser of the three courses but I think gets overlooked unfairly because of the quality of the PGA and Barbazon. For the cost of a round this will hold up against many of your local courses.

We had a deal to play The Derby and The National. The Derby was having work done on some bunkers which were not ready to be played in but no GUR signs. The National was in very good condition and despite the bad weather was a very good course.
The food and drink in the hotel was far too expensive (?3.95 for a cup of coffee).

Played this just after weeks of consistent rain, so was boggy in places.
Still on all tees and greens though, but the boggyness of the fairways was disappointing.
Would love to play in the summer

Considering the time of year, course was in great shape, greens were lovely but the course lacked excitement for me with average surroundings, it's no substitute for the Brabazon, wait until you can get a tee there instead.
