What the club says: Opened in 1933 Pype Hayes is a popular mature course with plenty of subtly curved fairways lined with gorse and broad leafed trees, firm contoured greens and lots of deeply sanded bunkers. The key to most of the par 4's is to play an iron for accuracy off the tee as the greens are still reachable with a middle to short iron. Don't be tempted to attack the pin on holes 3,4 and 11 as missing the green often means a dropped shot due to the out of bounds. Play safe and be content with hitting the green, once on the greens you'll find them a joy to putt on. It is a course which is very forgiving and, apart from a few ditches, has no water hazards. It is not very hilly, but there are sufficient gradients to make it interesting.

Excellent course in very good condition. Played off a mixture of mats and grass and all fairways and greens well kept. Usual problem of ignorant golfers not repairing divots and pitch marks but this is not down the staff of course.

A great course, especially good for those still learning the game. Although there are some long holes the fairways are wide and there's no water which means you don't need to worry as much as other courses about wayward shots. Greens were in brilliant condition, as was the rest of the course. No drainage issues even though it had rained the day before, it had dried out nicely. I had 3 very bad holes but nothing to do with the course.

The course is in excellent condition, we played behind a society match, but was never held up. The weather was very good so this obviously helped with all four golfers shooting below handicap scores. Enjoyed the social side of the day in the club house after the game.

Ex Birmingham municipal course now run by MyTime Golf
Pype Hayes is a municipal coarse which traditionally is excellent value and a great layout. They have built a new club house which is modern with a gym and good food. You can sit outside and view the 18th whilst having refreshments.

Great course but on this occasion very very wet and water logged, I would recommend this course when drier.

Considering the rain and snow in excellent condition. 16 temp greens but worth to look after the greens. Well worth the money hope to be back soon to play the greens.
