The Derby @ the Belfry, in places like a farmers field, very disappointing after the The Brabazon course the day before! Good weekend had by all. GCD

Never been one of my favourites since I played here when the Brabazon was first opened. Some people rave about it, but I just cannot see it and with the prices they are asking for green fees, it is not on my list of must plays.

Do not play the Derby course unless you have already had 4 pints with the rest of your stag party before teeing off.
I shall however be saving up for a trip to play the Brabazon, it looks fantastic

Considering we played in 27.12 the greens were in good condition. The first time I have ever played the Derby course.

Expensive for what it is !
Played the Brabazon, green fee about £180.00 per person. Its in fairly good condition but not worth all that money, bunkers don 't have enough rakes and were very often not raked. The round was slow I don't think they are bothered if you can play or not. Played with a scratch golfer and a 6 handicapper and they were a bit frustrated with the pace of play. Food was expensive £17.00 for a salad £13.00 for a club sandwich not great either.I

Great off course facilities, but courses need more TLC
I played the Derby Course and wondered if they ever actually tend to it, looked unkept, no ball washers, missing OOB stakes, tee boxes not repaired. Just seemed a course to spread the many golfers around the place. The next day I played the Brabazon which was much better (and should be) with much better tee boxes, manicured fairways and greens. Nearly landed the 10th with a 3W but hit sleepers to left of green and into the drink sigh. My verdict, play the Brabazon its a proper course, leave the Derby for the golfers wanting a cheaper deal. Play the PGA National and enjoy that. Of course facilities are absolutely amazing, but the prices are amazing too, but you're at the Belfry so expect to pay for that privilege. My other scores on here are based on the Brabazon not the Derby.Reviewer Rating

PGA National course day2 of trip. Not a patch on the Brabazon. Greens and fairways in really good condition however bunkers and overall layout let it down (especially at the price). Worth a look if you can get a special rate
