Great off course facilities, but courses need more TLC
I played the Derby Course and wondered if they ever actually tend to it, looked unkept, no ball washers, missing OOB stakes, tee boxes not repaired. Just seemed a course to spread the many golfers around the place. The next day I played the Brabazon which was much better (and should be) with much better tee boxes, manicured fairways and greens. Nearly landed the 10th with a 3W but hit sleepers to left of green and into the drink sigh. My verdict, play the Brabazon its a proper course, leave the Derby for the golfers wanting a cheaper deal. Play the PGA National and enjoy that. Of course facilities are absolutely amazing, but the prices are amazing too, but you're at the Belfry so expect to pay for that privilege. My other scores on here are based on the Brabazon not the Derby.Reviewer Rating

Derby Course - great value
Played course on a ?20 deal and for that it is great value. Arrive in good time as parking close can be an issue.I hear that in prolonged wet periods it can be heavy going and you can see the areas where drainage can be an issue but after a dry week it was fine.
A minibus takes you to the first tee, thus avoiding bunching and onlookers, bringing you back afterwards.
Fairways were fine, though greenkeepers have a task in repairing divots, rough was light. Greens were quick and true. If you do have the option, keep your approaches below the flag ;-).
Overall the course was a good "hotel" course but no more.
The main bonus is telling friends you played at "The Belfry". Having said that, the whole experience does draw you in to want to play their Championship courses.

Windy but fun
A very friendly place to play - the resort is amazing. As for the round itself, the course is in good condition and the fairways fairly forgiving. A few hazards had a tricky placement but very manageable on the most part. The biggest challenge was the wind - 2 to 3 clubs worth. Very helpful on the front 9, caused a struggle on the back 9.Reviewer Rating

Iconic, historic, say no more
Fantastic set-up and always a great place to play. Price may factor but you get what you pay for. We played the Brabazon and in lovely condition for the time of year. Course is a great challenge for all golfers and fun to play. Facilities are first class you and you will fail to work away unimpressed.Reviewer Rating

Brabazon great, Derby not great
I went for the weekend and played the Derby for the first time and the Brabazon for the 7th time and as always the Brabazon delivered in terms of hole layouts, the famous holes and general upkeep was ok but bordering on being a bit too soft and wet which is understandable due to the recent weather. The Derby as like playing one of my local cheapy courses, not looked after, not cut recently, no ball washers, lack of OOB markers where there was OOB. I would rather play a different local course than pay for The Derby, its almost as if the greenkeepers don't walk over to that course as its not in their job description to look after that one. Pity as it could be a good option for those who don't want to afford the Brab or PGA National. Facilities at the golf shop, golf bar and hotel excellent as always even if the prices are eye wateringly high for everything. I think there are better weekend away options for the money but the Belfry holds on to golfers emotional attachments with the Ryder Cup links, the celebrity plaques and pictures all around plus the fantastic off course facilities. Even though it costs an arm and a leg, I am sure I will go back again sometime sigh !Reviewer Rating

A true test of your golf game.
Great tee boxes, fairways and greens. The rough on the PGA course was gruelling and the heath was almost impossible to play from. A true test of your golf game.Reviewer Rating

The Derby Course - great greens
As this course starts some way from the Clubhouse, you have to jump in a van with your buddies, but meandering through the course is quite a nice experience. Whilst the Derby is the cheapest course on the complex, it is not the easiest. In fact, the back 9 is longer than The National. The first isn't the most impressive hole and there is a big pylon on the second, but after that is gradually improves. The greens are its best feature - running true, fast, with very few pitch marks and some difficulty in reading them. The marshall was always in attendance and the van back was waiting when we reached the 18th. The only real issue I had was a sense of going up and down, with fairways running parallel for a few par 4/5's. But other than that, thoroughly worth the money.Reviewer Rating
