I am a member at Styal and see it like more of a training ground these days. It is a deceptive course, a lot of the holes look easy off the tee but it has a way of biting you when you are not expecting it. Not a course to get complacent on. Recent drainage improvements have made a huge difference to winter play.

Good flat course , a bit blighted by new road being built thro parts of it so diggers everywhere

The course is undergoing a lot of change due to the new bypass so some holes are new and not great. The walk to the new 1st hole is crazy being a good 10-15 minutes from the pro shop. That said we have a soft spot for Styal and it's a feel good course so good luck to them and at £10 for the round who can argue with that?!!

Very enjoyable round of golf - fairways were in good order and the greens were fast and consistent.

Play here regular with a friend who is a member, good course condition when dry, ball seems to run on for ages!!!
Some of the bunkers are very hard just underneath the surface of sand, which makes it a lot more difficult to get out of!!!
I noticed lots of divots on fairways which hadn't been replaced, but that's not the clubs fault.
All in all, not a bad place 4/5 for me.

Course itself in great condition, back 9 much more interesting than front 9, bit overpriced and clubhouse closes at 8pm daily at the latest.

Nice wide course. Got very soggy in the rain with puddling on greens. Stuck behind some very slow members who wouldn't let us play through which put a downer on the round.

Nice course, flat and well maintained, some very sneaky bunkers on this couse well hidden in the background. Will definately play again at some point.

Nice Course
The course was neat and tidy and was a fair test.You had to hit a good shot to reach the fairways.
The Fairway distance markers were the wrong colour and there is a need for coarse direction markers as I got lost twice.
No soil boxes on tees
Worth the money.
